Chadd

Hejduksport Visor

Looks like HG has some of them now and you can buy the whole kit or just the shield.

Just got my visor delivered from HG, and I'm a little confused. There are the two horizontal slots for visor adjustment, but they both seem very low - almost as thought the visor would sit really high on the helmet. Above the highest slot is a single screw hole - am I forced to attached the visor to that hole (and then the slot below it)? That doesn't leave a lot of room for adjustment. If you see Chadd's first post you can see in the image what I'm talking about...

Can anyone confirm the only difference between the MH600 and MH800 is the cut along the top?

Any issues mounting to older CCM helmets - 852?

I have been watching these on ebay for a month now and still havn't hit the buy now button on one. Love the euro look. A la kovy/hossa style. I'm 100% sure I will be picking one up b4 next season.

I got my Hejduksport visor kit from IW on Monday…very nice. I went with the MH600 since it’s the same cut as the Itech I had been using. It looks like it’s thicker and feels a touch heavier than the Itech. Also, Hejduksport had a more solid feel to it.

Mounting it to my CCM 852 was fairly easy. The single piece spacers are very nice, but a touch on the long side for my helmet. I had to remove and trim the front side of the ear-loops for the spacers to sit flush.

I’ve yet to skate with it, but optical quality seems to be excellent.

Chad,

I have the same setup trying to mount the MH990 onto the V08.

My question is, what did you do with the nuts that are "cast" into the foam of the helmet.

The longer nuts provided with the visor must be used in order for the screws to reach.

Did you carve the nuts attached to the helmet out?

I'm not Chad, but I personally used a heat gun. The are just held in with a mild glue to the best of my knowledge.

Mine are still glued in, don't recall doing anything strange with mine. I have to put a new one on anyway, I'll try and do that this afternoon.

anyone have a picture of the MHX on a helmet? Curious to see how this thing fits before I replace my cracked HS22 aviator with an Oakley.

Has anyone from Canada ordered across the border from the IW or HG?

Which Hejduksport model is close to the Oakley Pro Straight Cut or the Bauer HS22 Straight Cut? The MH400 or MH500?

i have been using the MH600 Hejduk visor, and i cant say its bad, i like it personally, my only problem is the cut of that visor, reminds me of the itech pro wave and that makes me dizzy. Ventilation is great, the length is good, i have the visor completely extended and its still pretty close to my long nose so thats my only concern. As for the spacers provided i threw mine out, i have been using the spacers i got that are for oakley helmets, those are much better

As much as i love visors, i'll try one when my current one gets banged up.

Visors just get cut up way to easily. Can happen in one game.

im from Canada and made a trip down to the US lately and picked up an MH800 and its by far the best visor ive used. I had previously been using an Oakley straight cut, and an Itech straight cut. The itech seemed to always fog up on me, but so far the MH800 has been perfect and the 1-piece spacers are so easy to work with when mounting.

Are these visors on par with the Oakley or Bauer visors? I have $30 in points for TotalHockey and was thinking of maybe getting a MH500 (for free almost.) Any opinions on whether it's worth it to buy a cheaper one? Smarter to go with an Oakley/Bauer?

Late to this party, but here is the MH-X on a Mission Intake.

As for being on par with Oakley/Bauer, I'd give it a resounding yes. I've had it on about a year and a half and have zero complaints about it.

+1 I bought a MH500 from someone on here and it's been great.

I replaced an old Itech visor with the mh500. I've got beter than 50 league games plus practices and stick time on it. Absolutely love it. Considering buying a couple for spares.

My only complaint thus far is you definitely need to replace the standoffs and use longer screws. Can be tough on some helmets.

I got the MH500 and its been great. I have to agree that they need longer screws cause i had some problems fitting it on at first. I do like the single spacer it makes it easy to install.
