Easton Stealth S19 Shaft

Recommended Posts

Apparently they have the elliptical taper, do I need to purchase an S19 replacement blade to complete the elliptical taper or what? I'm a two piece guy so..

where did you hear that? According to the 2010 catalog, the s19 shaft is just the s15 shaft(zbubble) with a new paint job and takes standard blades.

Um...that was a lazy web editor who took the same description from the OPS and took out the part in which they were talking about the blade and flex profile.

Trust me, it's a Z-Bub.

Who knows? I'll ask them. I also assumed earlier it was a typo when Pure Hockey advertised tapered One95 shafts

that wasn't a typo.

Hate to BUMP this thread but any experiences with the s19 shaft?

I just bought an SE16 and love it but generally (since I play center) I feel my tapered blades don't last as long (nor my shafts usually). Tapered blades I find are more expensive too.

Not sure if anyone has used the S19 shaft but any comments or opinions would be awesome. It is considered tapered even though it uses standard blades? I was told that it tapers just before the hozzle...

I've seen online that they've gone back to compression molding on these instead of the liquid silicone process on the s15. I used to love the old z bubbles that were compression molded, does anyone know if its like them or more like a repainted s15? (materials wise, i know the shape is the same)

Some of the very early ones had a very rounded feel to them. So noticeable I said something to my buddy that works at the Total Hockey shop here and he agreed, as did the shop owner. Just grabbed one the other day at a shop again and it felt exactly like the S15, which means heavy, cheap, and crappy.

So despite the fact that they say they're using the compression molding technique again, they still feel like the S15s.

Thanks Scotty. I figured they wouldn't be much better, I certainly won't buy one without looking at it first. It's a shame too because I used to swear by easton shafts, but I switched to other companies because of the terrible quality. It's interesting though because it seems that the shafts on their top OPS are still top notch. The SE16 I had was terrific.

I purchased the S19 shaft a couple of days ago and I'm gonna try it out for the first time tonight. I'll let you know what I think of it....at least my first impression anyways. I've got a "Warrior Swizzle" blade in it and it seems to be a decent weight. The blade is 180grams and they say the shaft is 362grams so it would seem to be a heavy stick but I don't find it to be heavy at all. Feels good.

I've used an S19 shaft outdoors with an Easton Synergy Pro wood blade. It's definitely heavier than it should be (at that price-point anyway), and the flex-point seemed pretty high (probably because I wasn't using the S19 blade with the Focus Flex section). I kind of liked the feel, although the wood blade definitely made the stick pretty blade-heavy. Loved the rounded corners of the shaft.

I loved my SE16 shaft, especially with the SE16 wood tapered blade.

standard shafts don't have low kickpoints

Very true. Using the S19 shaft with the S19 blade made me think that the Focus Flex would lower the kickpoint even without the special blade. Wasn't the case.

After using the s19 for the first time I found my passing improved most over my shots. Perhaps its the blade I'm using with it but my shots didn't seem to be that much more accurate or harder.

One problem I noticed is that the blade has a very small amount of movement inside the shaft. It's not at the point where it will come out after a shot but it does have a little movement...back and forth. Anyone have any idea why that is and how it can be fixed? It's definitely a senior blade and these shafts are supposed to be suited for traditional blades??
