Big Guys in the house?!

5'11 / 6'0 and 260-270 lbs here... I was closer to 250 when I was on the Special K diet, but bacon and french fries for breakfast & lunch is so worth the extra 20 lbs!!! I just skate one more time a week to compensate :)

I am a roller hockey player though... I use outdoor wheels since I weigh so much!!!

Bro when I played roller, I would tear through wheels like they're nothing. The best wheels I ever had were the red Rink Rats (forgot the name). I used those outdoors. Then for indoors I used the yellow Rink Rats. Awesome wheels.

If I still played roller I'd prob try and find those exact wheels and buy in bulk.

To all the tall guys (6'2+) what size shins do you wear? I just notice my 16 inchers sit about 2 inches above my ankle bone, but sit perfect over my skates. I've just always felt they were too small. Curious to see what you guys wear?

I'm 6'3" and wear a 17" One 90 shin. It may be about 0.5" too long, but my old CCM 16" shins were about 0.5"-1" too short :-)

I know's there's a different thread already for using a lighter flex stick. I was wondering if any of you bigger guys have tried using a much lighter than usual flex, and how it went for you. I'm a heavy shooter with the stiff flex sticks, now. I'm wondering if this might be something interesting to tinker with or a waste of time.

(6'1 235 and really load my 100 flex sticks). Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I tried a one85 in 102 flex and it was a rocket for about a month! Now it doesn't even kick! Back to the 112! I can not afford to replace sticks every three weeks or so!
