R/H shot using L/H shaft

Recommended Posts

The search button didnt turn anything up for me so here is my question; Is there any difference in performance if a right handed shot were to use a left handed OPS shaft cut to fit tapered blades? The stick in question is a Synergy Elite. I know Inno used to have some sort of spine thing in their sticks and shafts so you had to pick Right or Left.

I've never seen a shaft other than the Innovative Novius that was marketed in a left or right handed version. I'm pretty sure the Synergy Elite OPS is the same construction as the shaft SE shaft and that isn't offered in right and left versions.

Bauer had some as well, but that was a long time ago. They were convex on one side and concave on the other.

Trilage is the only one currently doing one, I believe. The Bauer one was a while ago, maybe the Vapor 8?

Vapor and I want to say some of the DET series.

Yeah, those were the old shafts Bure used. DET5000 I want to say. Great shafts.

I actually have an old pro stock 5000 from Gratton, no mention on that one. The pinkish-red and aqua-green ones were the ones I was thinking of.

That's what I have here, D.E.T. 5000 pro. Just found a pretty major crack in it though.

I used a couple but the only one I have left is a Bure game used so that's never seeing the light of day.

Geez, I didn't realize they went that far back.

I could have sworn I had a Vapor 8 that was concave on one side.

They may have kept that going. Bauer did some wacky shit with their shafts in the mid-to-late '90s. I remember some shaft having aluminum in it, but not in a good A/C way.

Also the Nike Flexite 12 had that I believe. That was a wood model. However that was a while ago and I was younger at the time so I was convinced it was broken..I think my friend has one and there's probably a few stores with those around.

Easton had one as well... one side was concave and the other was convex... cant remember what the model was but it was a shaft and not an OPS.
