Basingstoke is probably a whole heap better than Dundonald Ice Bowl, makes the Odyssey look even better in comparison

almost there, just cover plate and a bit of paint to finish, have test cut with it and happy with the results

QFT. Impressive. How slick is the (granite) against the (SS)?

used the granite because it was only £12.99 at the local supermarket, its nice and flat, hardwearing and doesnt corrode, used one before on the mk1 and its held up well over 2 years, its nice and smooth with a couple of strips of hockey tape under the boot holder, tried felt but found it too squashy

avoided to click this thread for a while due to the title, thought that DIY sharpeners were impossible for "amateurs" - I'm glad I stand corrected now, that is some great work in here! +1

so you even built the engine yourself? is it not some kind of chainsaw or grinder engine?

It is not kind of chainsaw or grinder engine,High precision motor 0.75hp.Motor driving wheels, if the grinder production will be difficult, easy fibrillation

alright. another question: how much money did you spent on the sharpener in whole (beside working hours)?

Only motor spent $ 100, other parts friend helped produce free
