Something I don't understand with Bauer?

Why aren't they selling their retail shafts with soft grip?

I don't see any logical reasons for them to do that and it su... for us the customers... + the fact that they probably have the best soft grip on the market...

I haven't seen a Bauer shaft in a hockey shop in two years. Tons of Easton, Warrior, and even Reebok, but no Bauer anywhere.

Send Bauer an email. If they get enough request, they might consider it.

Soft grip = stick um... Same thing.

Their grip is the most resistant considering all the shafts I've used so far...

This is probably a stupid question ....................but what is Bauer's soft grip. Is it something different than their standard, stick'um, or tactile grips?

I agree with the OP. What I found even worse, was that I could not get ZTedge to stick to the bauer shafts for more than a period or so. So frustrating. I also dont like the tactile grip and I think it does absolutely nothing.

You sort of get the feeling that the two piece market is kind of being serviced reluctantly by the manufacturers and LHSs. Makes sense, I suppose.

Most likely the same reason that there isn't a retail toe curve, theres just not enough demand. Sure there might seem like there is a demand on Msh but that's amongst the people who really care about their stuff like most of us do but the rest of consumers alot of them couldn't give two shits, but hey that's their thing. :P

exactly. however saying that, i've noticed that sales of shafts typically have grip go faster than non.

if you guys who care about it emailed them asking why they don't offer it, and enough do it, they might reconsider.

Really? Again most people i play with pick it up or decide it has nice graphics and say ima get it! lol I know a kid on my roller hockey team whos 5'4 about 120 pounds first season playing hockey with an Easton St senior in 100 flex and i believe cut quite a bit. The most populer shaft I've seen has been the one 95 so I'm going to say that's a non grip lol.

well with easton they look the same (except the white or black or blue and red crap). And since we have teams that use those colors evenly, we've noticed that 100 flex grip shafts are our best selling shaft.

what's weird is in sticks 85 non is our best seller.

One95's are a pain to convert though if you wanted tapered. Probably wouldn't be perfect either. You'd have to flip it to fit standard and it wouldn't be even close to the performance one95 standard shaft, not to mention the tapered end in your hand

Can you be more specific as to why it's difficult to convert a OPS One95 to a tapered shaft? Do you have chisel away the inner shaft to make it fit after cutting off the blade?

It's a very thin taper. I'm not sure a sr tapered blade would fit without filing the tenon or the inside of the shaft. I stuck an intermediate tapered blade in my broken one95

It is a very thin taper. I have a One95 shaft that's broken from an OPS (tried using as a 2-piece for street hockey) and I cut it quite high, and still can't get a Sr. tapered blade in there. It would take quite a bit of work to use it as a 2-piece, and you'd need a long extension.

I have a prostock one that's really long, so maybe I could get a sr tapered in and still have enough length. That would be when I run out of intermediate blades lol. I literally chopped the blade off as low as possible and the blade just fit.

I've called Bauer through my LHS this week and they don't even offer their custom stick option with their shafts...

I was willing to pay much more just to have that option and they don't want to. I think they should treat their shafts market a little better...
