most def

Hamill is looking like he can hang, too bad there's way too many centers

Yeah that pass he made on the Ryder goal while he was falling was great. I'd say keep him up in Savard's absence and send Caron back down when Paille comes back. Keep Seguin on the wing where he can use that speed and not worry as much defensively.

It has been a while since I've seen a game that fun to watch. The only bummer was that the goalie fight was pretty sad. Then again (like the announcer referenced) it's a good thing for both teams that neither goaler got hurt.

I don't think either of them really wanted to trade punches, it was more like 2 friends horsing around

its almost like they couldnt keep a straight face and busted out laughing halfway through pretending to fight

reminds me of when cujo "fought" vernon and they were laughing the whole time

They didn't look 100% into the fight, more like..."what the hell, everyone else is fighting...might as well". I DO think, if it were real Price would destroy him.

I like what Ryder brings to the game and wouldn't mind him being resigned? What do you guys think?

let's see streaky goalscorer...disappears sometimes....Horton/Ryder are clones. Keep Horton, they can use the $ for the offseason.

The only reason Thomas went down the ice was because Price was getting a little grabby with someone and it evened up the numbers. I have to say, I didn't like Marchand's hit on the icing that started one of the other melees. Agitating is one thing, that was a cheap play.

Ryder is playing ok, but I feel like it's only because it's a contract year, and he's certainly not playing as well as he's being paid for.

Embarrassing performance on the PK last night. Bruins are lucky that Montreal didn't want to play a lick of defense. Yeah, they won and they punched a bunch of people, but there's no reason to give up 6 goals, win or not.

As a Habs fan I must say that I'm fairly proud of most of the guys on the team that didn't back down for the most part. However, I must say that I'm a bit pissed at the Bruins. I mean Marchand going after Subban I can understand given the fact that Subban crushed him with an open ice hit the last time they played. Chara going after Pacioretty I can understand because Pacioretty pushed him twice after he scored the game winning goal.

But Campbell pounding Pyatt?

Lucic playing the bad guy knowing really well that no one on Montreal's side can trade punches with? Specially when IMO Lucic has a history of choosing who he fights with and who he won't fight... Laraque anyone?

McQuaid or whoever pummelling Spacek... Give me a break

Thornton who with all due respect will drop the gloves against anyone in the league, including Laraque, Boogard, you name it but will also go after players like Subban or other smaller guys. But at least he will answer to his actions against anybody.

The Marchand hit like Chippa was saying was unecessary.

I've been hearing all morning on other sites that the Habs need a goon. They don't need a goon, it's useless. The only Bruin that would have fought a Habs goon would have been Thornton and maybe Chara, that's it. All the others would have backed down and it would have amounted to nothing. Goons in the league, for the most part, will only fight other goons and more often then not right off the face off after they have mutually agreed to fight.

What the Habs need, and other teams for that matter are players like David Backes, a Mike Kean in his old days, to some extent Mike Fisher etc.

Maybe I see things being worse because of my allegiance and will probably get flack from Bruins fans but IMO there was no act of bravery on the Bruins side last night. Think of it if it happened the other for exemple if the Bruins were playing Ottawa and Chris Neil (no longer much of a threat but still) was going after Bergeron, Carkner after Horton etc. doesn't make any sense does it?

Not to start anything but you Canadians fans just love that whole Lucic not fighting Laraque thing, every youtube video I stumble across of Lucic has thousands of Canadians saying that same crap.

I remember Timmy and Price sitting and laughing it up at the allstar draft so I knew they weren't going to throw punches.

The round of fights that you are complaining about all started with Moen going after Ference. One can also argue that fight being a mismatch in the Habs favor. The rest of the scraps in that scrum were all like-sized players having at each other.

As for the rest, Lucic is a top 6 forward and should never be fighting a 4th line brawler like Laraques. That is a horrible trade-off for the B's and you won't find a coach/GM of any team who would want one of their top goal scorers fighting a 5 minute a game player.

On the topic of Subban, everybody wanted a piece of that kid and he refused all comers. He is quickly getting the reputation around the league of being a punk that won't answer his actions. Not a good reputation to have when you've got decent size and haven't earned your respect yet.

Sorry, missed the Moen/Ferrence thing and have to agree with the rest although IMO, if a guy like Lucic is hitting everything that moves, fighting players who are not known for fighting, at some point he should answer the call wether it's against a 4th liner or not.

As for Subban, I agree that some day he will have to answer the call and that should be sooner rather than later but honnestly, he certainly isn't the only player in the league acting that way but I can't defend his actions.

Krejci and Pouliet seemed like a bit of a mismatch as well. Pouliot has 3 inches and 20 pounds on dk

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but from what I saw in the highlights, Krejci is actually the one who went after Pouliot and it just so happened that he went after the wrong guy. Honnestly, I had no clue Pouliot could fend for himself, albeit it was against Krejci who's not a known fighter either.
