Easton Torque Shaft {Mid 90's}

Recommended Posts

I saw one in my friend's garage the other day. The shaft was black with white and pink lettering, there might have been turquoise markings too -shaft was in pretty bad shape

In it's day it was up there with the Ultra lite,A/G,and T-flex

I remember Joe Juneau using one in Washington

We slapped in an old Z-carb blade. It wasn't to bad,a little heavy but had good flex

Yep. I always wanted one.

I remember specifically when I was a kid, and drooling over one of'em at a Champ's Sports, it was about 70-80 USD and some guy was lookin' at it w/ his kid and said

"I wonder if they'll ever have a stick as light as graphite and as strong as aluminum"

But methinks the Torque shafts came out before the UL/AG/Tflex Graph.

I really wish we could get 80 and 90 flexes (like on the Torques) retail.

Neo, you are right.

They were around when the A/C and Convexs were out.

Typhoon is an 80 flex and Cyclones come in 95. An "R" flex is generally a 90-95, while a 300 flex is around an 80 as well.

Ahh, yes I forgot about the Typhoon. I guess I meant on the higher end shafts.

I also remember when Easton had an aluminum shaft called the V-Flex. Plain aluminum, sorta concave sides and available in a variety of flexes..........I thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiink 80-85-90-95

Ah the memories. My very first aluminum shaft (because it was affordable when I was 15 yrs old). Mostly black with I think either yellow or silverish writing. I slapped an Easton Gretzky II blade in there and thought I was the sh!t because I had an aluminum. I broke a few which split down at the insertion point. I still have my last one for sentimental reasons.

I believe I had a 100 flex...not totally sure though since it's over at my parent's house.

What was the Aluminum/Graphite one that Lidstrom used to use for a while? It was like black and Gold/Brown and had lots of little Easton logos written on it. I always wanted to try one of those, are they heavy?

I just saw this post and I thought about and looked around at my old shafts. I have two torques ones in like 9.5-10 condition and the other one is cut down but still in good shape.

I have one of those A/C Lidstrom Carbons. Very nice shaft that I need to use soon. I also have the classic blue alum. T-Flex and the Green Alum. T-Flex that Roenick used. Using aluminum again would be very strange indeed.

I'm 17 now so by the time I started buying shafts a few years ago, aluminum was out of date. All you guys that did use it, was the flex on aluminum shafts the same as shafts today? Or was the feel entirely different?

80 flex eh? How long did those babies last? 3 slapshots? I though aluminum shafts werent meant to flex too much.

Tell me about it, at the time I bought one, I thought that you could flex aluminums, and I was dead wrong, the thing snapped in half. But before it broke it had a decent shot, but after I would shoot with it I would look at it and it would be bent.

Best shaft ever. I have 9 stocked up but I'm trying to get up to Shanny-like numbers in hoarding old Easton stock.

I have an old TPS shaft and it's a tank. Cant remember the name but it has the carbon weave and says tps, I will get pics later. My first shaft was an aluminum gretzky easton shaft, musta been 100 flex. I was 8 and had it for a week before I got tripped into the boards and it got caught in between the door and boards, bent into a U shape.

tooooo ............... much.............nostalgia..........

yes, there were black alum. t-flexes, those were 95 flexes as opposed to the 100 flex blue roenick model.

And I also remember having a jr. teal colored easton alum. they came in all sorts of colors. You can still see them in "hans hockey shop" in Mighty Ducks I

IMO best looking stick of all time was the chrome gretz. alum. shaft. what a jewel.

I agree. If they made a Synergy just all chrome looking like that (instead of just the bottom like the stealth) I'd be all over it. But of course if you get the chrome stick you also gotta get the spinners in the T-Blades too :D
