"Your" Brands

Recommended Posts

So, since the holiday is coming up I was asked to make a small list of some things for my family to get me. This is weird for me since I ususally just get things as I need them. Now its a chance to stock up on some things. In regards to brands, I find myself sticking to one with pretty much everything as far as stick, skates, helmet, gloves, pants... I look at all sorts of other brands and want to buy them but always finding myself staying with this particular brand. I hear great things about other brands but never switch.

Do you have "your" brand or do you prett much buy the/any brand that works the best for you for that particular piece of equipment.

Pretty much always RBK/Jofa or Bauer for protective, easton for sticks, graf for skates, warrior for gloves, tackla for pants. Tough to stick with all one brand for everything :D

I normally stick to Bauer, but that is just because all of their gear fits me right

And that's what I'm kinda finding. Been with Bauer since the beginning and I've been interested in looking for some new gear. I am interested in some Warrior Franchises because I think they look fantastic when done up right but I have used BH4Rolls for a while now and can't find a reason to change but I still look for one.

That's what I'm finding. Certain brands do the best at certain things...Can't stay with just one. It's just interesting how well Bauer does at almost all aspects of hockey gear. (Granted their fit isn't for anyone)

I sometimes feel critizised by other players when they look at me and I'm in all Bauer. I know I shouldn't give a crap but even team mates will chirp at me having Bauer, Bauer, Bauer.

Good replies so far! Keep em coming!

Bauer and jofa/rbk for pads, skates I'm pretty open to anything but I prefer Bauer, helmets are pretty much jofa/rbk, stick is still undecided as of yet, though I believe the dolomite dd will be what I settle on, back in the wood days I was a Montreal and Victoriaville lover, pants are Bauer's supreme line, pro tacks, or tackla. Gloves are older ccm 4rolls (love my 692's) Bauer 4rolls or the 8 or 9k's from 05, love that design. Warrior also makes a decent glove nowadays it seems.

Like some others the majority of my stuff is bauer. I generally like the quality of their products and have once previously run into a situation where I was unhappy with the quality of one of their top of the line products and they took care of me better than I could've hoped for, which has kept me coming back since.

Shins, Pants, Elbows and Shoulders are all Reebok/Jofa.

Skates are always CCM.

Helmet varies. Usually a Bauer to ref and a Reebok to play.

Gloves are always Bauer 4 rolls.

Sticks vary frequently.

I'll say that about 90% of the time I end up with Bauer everything. It used to be because the bauer line was a little cheaper and higher quality, but now it's just because I've grown accustomed to it.

Bauer Bauer Bauer Bauer, with a touch of CCM and a hint of Easton, Bauer Bauer TPS. Lool

I'm a Bauer and Rbk/Jofa boy. Since I got to choose my own gear, it's always been Bauer or Rbk/Jofa. Only exceptions are my stick: Been using base since October, before that always Bauer. Then skates: I used CCM 652 tacks for a while, otherwise Bauer and Reebok.

Helmet always CCM, gloves always 4-Roll was Eagle now to Warrior, sticks Easton, skates Bauer, shins and elbows Jofa/Rbk, shouldies are frankenpads but want to switch to a pair of Warrior Hitman(mine have plastic caps like the SBDII's and I caught a guy in the chin going for a puck and that didn't end well so I want to change).... Been like this for a while, I have no clue why I play with these brands in each category. I've tried different stuff with everything other than skates but it just doesn't feel right. I may have to retire if any of these companies disappeared and I couldn't find replacements haha

Due to my OCD, I try to keep all my gear the same but fit and comfort play have broken that. For the most part, all my gear is Bauer with the exception of my shoulder pads and helmet. Reebok had the better shoulder pads for the price and I just love the look and feel of the Easton S9 helmet. It's kind of a lucky mistake that Bauer stuff just fits me better. In the end though, just go with what fits and what you can afford.

Skates: Was always Bauer, went CCM once.. never doing that again

Helmet: Bauer because I have a huge head, used the Jofa 366 before

Gloves: Eagle or Mission for the past few years

Sticks: Was a long time Easton guy but made the switch to Warrior and I fell in love

Elbows: Just picked up x40's that replaced very old JOFAs

Shins: Very old Eastons that will be replaced soon

Pants: Just picked up some Warriors and will be set for a long time.

If I had to stick with two brands I would be happy with all Warrior/Bauer gear as I'm almost there now anyways.

I'm not really brand loyal. Whatever fits, is comfortable, and performs well is fine by me. I have varied equipment.

Only thing I think I'm becoming partial to is Easton sticks.

Ditto

3 different brand of skates

2 different brands for shins

1 brands for pants

1 brands for elbows

2 brands for shoulders

2 brands helmets

1 brand for sticks

What works for me is what i go with.

I've always been a Bauer whore, but recently, I've been branching out. Been using Harrow shafts and blades, Eagle gloves. I'm sure more will follow. Baby steps right? The only thing that I refuse to change up are my Bauer skates. Never had an bad pair. I've also been buying up any pair of 8090's anytime I see them. Kind of hard explaining that one to wifey...

Skates : CCM

Sticks/Shafts : TPS (until I run out).

Shin/Elbow/Shoulder : Jofa, when possible. Still working on the shins (altough I really like the Cooper Techniflex ones I just picked up).

Helmet : Bauer

Gloves : No brand preference, as long as it's a nice pair.

If I had to pick just one brand for everything, it would be Bauer (assuming that I could afford custom skates).

I tend to gravitate towards CCM, but I'll use anything that I like and works for me. All of the brands make good stuff and it would be pretty dumb to say that you will only buy a certain brand.

Not really brand loyal but I do rule out a brand or two because of fit issues in the past. Big no to mission skates.

helmet and gloves Bauer. always fit me right, and I always liked the look.

Skates: Inline it was Tour, then I got a pair of Mission s500's for ice that I loved until they were lost in a fire. then got a pair of fuel's that I hated. they broke when I did my ankle in. Let's hope RBK works out this time!

Sticks: RLXN10 shafts with a Drury style blade. Love 'em to death.

The rest is all what was cheap and fit fine.
