Ovechkin's stick question

Make sure they are his real sticks. CCM released some ovechkin clone sticks. The real ones say a.ovechkin and the clones say OVI-8.

HIs prostocks are way different from his retail curve. I believe he uses a wicked toe curve, whereas the retail Ovechkin is more like a Drury. I've got two of the retail CCM vector 10s, and they are exactly the same as the Drury.

Ovi's stick actually has the Ovi symbol with the pointy upside down V above the O painted on his stick and is part of the graphics of the stick, where most players just have there names stamped on a white spot on the graphics. The symbol is the one you see on his clothing line of hats and jackets etc. if the sticks have that symbol on there along with his toe curve, you have a legitemate stick made for Ovi. If the stick just has a stamp Ovie 8, then it was a custom order by the store (ccm does custom orders in 12 packs) and the blade will be the old composite blade from tge old CCM Vector line which is part composite and part fibrglass wrap. I would say the lie is probably 5.5 or 6. I have a left handed clone of Ovi's pattern with the Ovie 8 stamped on the stick. Unless you really like the curve these sticks perform poorly in my opinion, as I believe ccm just repaints old Vector type sticks with tne U+ CL graphics and charges full retail too. So which one does your store have? The actual Ovi Pro stock or just the clone with the Ovie 8 stamped on it? How much are they?

im not saying your friend didnt have a real one, but they were never stamped A. ovechkin, maybe his rookie years, they all either say OVI-8 or the newer U+ version of them have his logo in the name bar,

Unless you are talking about the stick Ovi used 5 years ago, his sticks are not stamped A.Ovechkin. That is what is stamped on the retail sticks. To the guy who posted the pic with the ovi-8 stamped on the stick. That is a clone if it is a U+ CL, unless it is the White Vector 10 he use to play with. Follow the link to the ebay auction. Ovi has his own graphic symbol integrated on the graphics of the stick and there Is a pic in the auction link Tamtamg provided.

I have seen A.Ovechkin, Ovechkin, OVI, ovi8, ovi-8, Ovie8 and I'm sure more then various versions of that with the Ovechkin logo above the nameplate. It has changed a lot over the course of his career. I think Bauer was the one that used "Ovie 8."

^^^^^ Agreed I was just referring to the U+ CL sticks he is currently using with his symbol in the graphics.. Funny thing is, he has only used the new style graphics for 2011 once and that was in a blowout loss to Atlanta.

Alright you all make valid points but none of you saw the other one. I will still stand by that the other one was real and my friend actually got the 2 clone OVI-8 and he thinks they are real however, I know they are the clone fake ones. Thanks for the input, no hard feelings guys!

Hey guys save your money and wait until April. Ccm is releasing a "crazy ovi" curve on most of their new sticks, in different flex and hand and grip. Comes on new sticks and with warranty.

Pro Hockey Life here in Canada has an "OVI Authentic" CCM U+ 07 in their stores. Pretty ridiculous curve.

From what I saw, it came in both right and left, but from the feel, I doubt it'd perform well.

What shop is that Hampshire? I usually go to TSR but they are more of a bauer dealer, kind of hard to find CCM stuff
