Who kisses his ass? Most people know he's a streaky type of goalie, but he shows up in the big games.

Voters who elected him an All star starter.

Thank you Sir ;)

Voters who elected him an All star starter.

So the Penguins/Fleury fans out there wanting their favorite goalie to start in the ASG are now ass kissers?

I guess that makes Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Toews, and Keith's fans ass kissers as well then and every other voted all star teams in any league.

Not everyone in the United States and Canada are Penguins fans. If you want to really get down to it — both Thomas and Lundqvist are having a better season than Fleury and both deserved to be the "Popular Vote" over Flower. The only reason Fleury even gets the attention he does is b/c he players for the Penguins. If he was playing for the Panthers or Coyotes no one would even think twice about voting him in.

No the casual fan who abides by the NBC rules of Detroit, Philly, NYR, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Washington as the original and only 6. Those are the people who vote for Fleury despite his mediocre year.

I hate it when fans in certain cities stuff the ballot box for their guys. That said, MAF would have been in the game based on his performance and talent.

Fleury in his previous 30 starts pre-ASG:

22-5-3

Coming from a Pens fan, yes he is streaky but he has played really well since his 1-6 start.

Underrated: I could throw a million players out there that don't get enough credit.

Overrated:

Bobby Luo

Joe Thorton(I know I know but you gotta show up when it matters the most)

and I'll throw Malkin and Semin under here too. Now I know you guys said well they're just lazy. If you have the talent and don't use it isn't that what qualifies you as overrated?

I consider overrated as not having the talent people claim you have.

As I agree with that being a form of overrated, not using your talent is another. What good are you if every game is a Sunday skate?

Underrated: Keith Yandle, Kimmo Timonen, Brooks Laich

Overrated: Roberto Luongo, Brent Seabrook, Jeff Carter

How is Jeff Carter overrated? He scored 44 goals 2 years ago just had a rash of injuries.

Underrated: Jonas Hiller, Brad Richards

Patrick Kane is pretty darn good and Brad Richards? How can a guy with the Conn Smyth and be underrated?

Kane is good. Nowhere near the Mega Superstar Goal Scoring machine some people make him out to be. When you hear about the best players/top point producers in the media how often does Richards come up? Guy put up 91 points least season and I heard nothing about him.

Since the Pens played the Isles today I remembered another overrated player. Tavares, to be honest he was hyped pretty hard coming outta juniors and I never have been impressed with his play. Granted he plays on one of the worst teams in the league I would expect a little more from him though.

Tavares put up 54 points as a rookie and is on pace to top that this season, all while playing with NOBODY on the Isle.

Exactly. Hell, I would consider him slightly "underrated". For playing on a team like the Islanders and producing as much as he has, Tavares gets props.

He plays in a non-traditional market, most of those guys don't get much press.

I hope that's a joke.

Nope, I've never been impressed with the Michelin man. Seeing his team miss the playoffs because of a shootout loss was icing on the cake.

Im a Colorado fan, so of course I'm a little biased, but I see Paul Stastny play every night and this guy is definately underrated. I would say the same for Derek Roy and as much as it pains me to say, Joe Pavelski. As for the most overrated player in the NHL, I have a few guys to throw under the bus. A) Rick Dipietro B)Dion Phaneuf and C)Andrei Markov
