elpresidente99 1 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 Hello!!I my last sticks were se16, x60, warrior DD, Total one. The best stick in feeling i have is the total one, easy receiving passes you know almost everytime where puck is without lookin, but i noticed with almost every other low kick high ender my wrister was more acurracy and quicker. Before you don't understand me wrong, the totalone shoots like a rocket too but i have a better feeling in shoots with for example se16 or x60. The se16 was almost the perfect stick for me, but i went throu three pieces in one and a half month, and in Europe you can't get one under 200 dollar. So maybe there is a stick out there with a similar feeling to the total one, but a real low kicker with wrister like bombs. Maybe someone has experience with the new ccm or the widows.Greetz

SouthpawTRK 1 Report post Posted February 9, 2011 If you liked your SE16, then perhaps you might want to check out the EQ50; seems like a lot of people are liking it.
Scotty 8 Report post Posted February 9, 2011 So a softer, more refined feel with a lower kick than the Bauer Supreme series?Newer Dolomite. I think TBLfan would agree with me given his review of the stick.

Keegan75 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2011 Have to agree with the OP, I'm in the UK and the cost of sticks, in fact hockey equipment in general, is a joke RBK 8K helmets here are roughly 175 CAD, picked one up on eBay in my team colour which would be impossible to get in the UK for around 40 CAD, but by the time I pay the shipping and taxes I doubt it will be that much cheaper Really jealous seeing some of the pro stock kit you guys pick up for next to nothing, and we pay over the odds for rubbish kit

Keegan75 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2011 You think?I think if you're buying something that's been tailor made for a professional, you're getting alot more for your money than if you buy something mass produced "off the shelf"

I am in Scotland and there are hardly any surviving hockey shops, they open and close within a year or two of set up.I have to resort to buying stuff on US eBay in order to get decent gear without paying ridiculous prices, especially when they are charging high prices for last year's models. (www.demonextreme.com is bad for this) Pisses me off no end, and as for "Pro Stock" - thats non-existant over here. In short, the hockey shops over here are dire, more so due to the fact the sport isn't popular in the way football (soccer) is. Back on topic - I'd get the new Dolomite, sounds exactly what the OP is looking for. I find my Nike vapor XXXX is pretty good for what you need too, quite a fragile stick however. Keegan75 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2011 Where do you play in Scotland Kanya? I'm in Cardiff, luckily because of the Devils there are two long-running hockey shops, their stock is still pretty poor because on the whole nobody can afford to pay for premium kit It's really frustrating when you're trying to improve your game but can't afford the equipment that will help you

We had one shop other than the ice rink shop (which is crap) and thats closed after a year. There's only one LHS now serving pretty much all of Edinburgh and Fife area now (Can-Am Sports - good shop thank god but expensive)You are far better off ordering your kit via ebay.com (US) and importing it, pay the customs etc. tracking it is fine, customs is a pain as is the wait...but its worth it. I got two brand new One95 senior shafts for £120, took 2 weeks to arrive but totally worth it. Customs was about £27. I dont even bother looking at kit from UK shops unless its an emergency! As for pro stock...there aint no "pro's" up here lol

I really don't think proline has a poor stock at all. They have alot of the high end equipment, T1/x60 stuff. Granted its not the cheapest around but do realize theres VAT, thats a pretty big premium thats added on.Grafs skates are definitely cheaper to buy here than it is in the US. As for prostock, I've seen some guys playing with x:pro and onepro sticks around here. They could just be SMU. Either way theres nothing stopping you from getting prostock equipment from europe/us. Don't see whats the big deal about prostock anyway, you're using something designed for someone else. Wouldn't you be better off with something made for you? And when it break, its harder to find a replacement.

Kanya 3 Report post Posted February 9, 2011 Toronto, canada hockey gear prices are not that far off from UK prices... Ah but in canada you guys LOVE hockey and thats the difference - many more LHS!! So I resort to ebay US, just find I can get much better kit. To each their own however.
Keegan75 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2011 who do you play for in Cardiff then PBY? Proline have some good stuff but the selection isn't massive and the prices are ridiculous, I appreciate it isn't their fault but still, expensive is expensive! We just don't have the choice here, if you don't like what they've got it's eBay or import the stuff, I've taken to eBay now. Even once I pay shipping and tax it's cheaper than buying locally.I bought an 09 Sherwood RM7 one piece from the rink shop, just before Christmas - £95 (135 CAD) It kills me
