How do you pack your hockey bag?

Recommended Posts

Skates in the front skate pockets, jersey, socks, cup, tape etc. into either of the side pockets. Then put my shoulders in on the bottom, helmet next to it. Pants on top of shoulders, shins inside pant legs, elbows inside shins, gloves on top of helmet.

shoulders and elbows go in first, shins go inside each leg of pants and helmet goes in the waist of the pants. gloves in end pocket, softgoods are all in other end pocket (socks, jerseys, jock shorts, t shirt) skates go in skate compartment on outside of bag.

my bag is pretty much ready for the garbage, but I can't find a decent bag with the same features that doesn't have wheels on it.

Helmet on one side, folded girdle standing upright

Shin pads with knee braces and elbows stacked together and then placed upright

Gloves on top of helmet

I pretty much pack it the same way before each game, as it helps me make sure that I get all my gear before I make the hour & a half drive to the rink.

-Shins in the bottom, elbows inside the shins, gloves in between the shins, helmet in the gap on the end, pants & shoulder pads on top (sometimes I throw a 2nd pair of gloves in there too)

-Skates in the skate pocket with my skate socks in them

-Jock, cup, socks (dark/light), jerseys (dark/light), UnderArmour in one end pocket

-Tape, extra laces, misc, towels, & shower stuff in the other end pocket.

I love having a giant bag - Bauer Carry Bag (40"), it beats the crap out of my old Easton Ultralite Bag as far as size & number of pockets.

Easton backpack bag. Perspective is with bag standing upright, not laying down. Opening facing forward.

Skates in skate pockets

Helmet, Jersey, gloves, elbow pads on bottom.

Shoulder pads upright on top of bottom layer

pants upside down in front of shoulder pads.

Shin pads stuffed into legs of pants.

Jock, socks, hockey socks, undershirt stuffed on top.

Hockey tape and rag to wipe skates off in front accessory pocket.

Skate guards go in skate pockets while on the ice.

I don't live far from rink so no need to shower at rink.

Everything is put in so I can pull stuff out in order I need to get dressed.

After playing it goes back in basically the same way. Bag is not that big so this order makes everything fit the easiest. Equipment is taken out to be aired out after playing.

Sole objective is to fit it in the bag as compactly as possible, without resorting to cramming.

Skates in end pockets. Main compartment - jock in helmet, helmet in bag at end, elbow pads stacked "69" next to it, shoulder pads on bottom, gloves lined up along bottom of shoulder pads, pants on top of that, shin guards on top of that, wet shirt, jersey, socks, etc., in plastic bag wherever it'll go.

I put the skates in skate pockets, and then I load in the reverse order it goes on.

helmet

gloves

elbows

shoulders

shell

girdle

socks

shins

jock

I have a small drawstring bag that has clean undergarments and another that has tape and tools.

A small carpet goes on top of it all.

I've got a pretty big bag...

1. Jerseys, hockey socks, cup

2. 2 pairs gloves, middle

3. elbow pads and shin pads go round the gloves to form a neat rectangle

4. pants

5. Skates, helmet, jock, skate socks, anything else i need..

weird...

  1. Skates in Pockets
  2. Shoulder pads
  3. Elbows inside Shoulder pads
  4. Shins next to them
  5. Pants on top
  6. Helmet next to side pocket so visor is less susceptible to being knocked
  7. Gloves other end

Makes it all fit in nicely with no sharp bits to poke me in the back while walking :)

My equipment is large so it's hard to fit everything in sometimes. The only real consideration is putting my shinguards inside the legs of my breezers. Everything gets tossed in, then breezers on top.
