is it okay to use gloves that are a little to big

Recommended Posts

If it's a tighter fitting 15" you may be okay. I personally can't use a 15" glove and wear size 14's... but it's not going to be like skating in a pair of skates that are a size too big. You can cut down/modify the cuff if the fingers fit decently.

Mostly PP though as Monty stated.

Its your call its only a glove, its not going to hurt you if you wear a larger size. If it feels good use it. Personally, me going up a size was too lose and my fingers would not reach the end and would effect my stickhandling.

Personally I'd way rather go for a different brand/model in the right size than my desired brand/model in the wrong size, but as other posters have stated some people do like loose fitting gloves (not me, I like them real close fitting everywhere but the cuff). Like with all fit issues you're really not gonna get much useful advice on a forum, you have to try the product on and see for yourself.

well i'm going to give them a try if they are to big oh well

Trying them is the only way to find out. How do they feel handling a stick in the store?

Gloves are probably the only real piece of gear you can wear in the wrong size without suffering too much in either performance or protection, IMO.

Pants, shins, skates, elbows and especially helmets all need to fit properly to do their job, but other than maybe leaving a little more exposed area near your wrists and the space at the end of the fingers...you should be okay.

I bought a cheap pair of 15" gloves even though I wore 14s, just for street hockey. Ended up getting blisters on the inside thumb. Could have been the stick, but since then I've only worn 14s and everything is fine. The feel wasn't that much of a difference though. If you really love the gloves and can't find them in 14s, maybe tape your fingers if the same problem comes up. If no problems come up, then who cares.

Your spelling and grammar offends me.

The one before that was so much worse, lol.

Anyways, gloves that are too big you can probably get away with, they aren't skates.
