skyscrape 5 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 Did this guy actually say "Tossing the salad" in reference to this kids hair at 1:09 of #9? Was too creeped out to watch any further?
mnpucker 33 Report post Posted April 14, 2011 In Minnesota kids grow up dreaming of the opportunity to get called to that blue line in the state tournament and say hi to mom, grandma, grandpa, dad their girlfriend etc...on television. The tournament is probably as watched in the state as the super bowl....(exaggeration but it si a close second) I would not be surprised if some people get as much enjoyment watching those kids skate out to their spot to see what they will say or do on the big stage. I could give you so many examples of what teams do for the Minnesota state tourney but whatever they chose the whole team does it. The trend is now beginning to get into the college ranks, Umd chose the peroxide option this year.Anyway whatever they do it is considered part of the tradition of this tourney. This video was actually pretty popular in Minnesota as a result. Regarding the Salad comment.....this is Minnesota odds are the guy had no clue what he was saying other than the kid flipped his hair around......If he did mean the OTHER one then by all means yuck and I am with you guys. I kind of doubt it though.

ndlancer95 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2011 Because "flow" is called lettuce, and lettuce is a main ingredient of salad. But still, "tossing the salad"?
dsjunior1388 81 Report post Posted April 19, 2011 Because "flow" is called lettuce, and lettuce is a main ingredient of salad. But still, "tossing the salad"?Ah, now I get it. Point is, not everything is meant as an awkward euphemism for sex.
skyscrape 5 Report post Posted April 26, 2011 Everytime John Buccigross talks about Mike Babcock or Chris Drury he always mentions their great head of hair as a "Great salad."Makes sense. I have never heard it before. But I would still avoid using the original phrase when speaking about high school and college age young men.Ah, now I get it. Point is, not everything is meant as an awkward euphemism for sex.I agree but that one is pretty bad!

hunterphfr 12 Report post Posted May 2, 2011 We need to get this commentator in a booth.Assuming commentator is a grown man, video still gives me the creeps. It's like the guy is window shopping. That s*^$t just isn't right. Maybe being as I'm from Florida (the freak show state) I may just be a little oversensitive. But keep him the F#@k away from my 10 year old son.
