Looking to black out Eagle gloves

Recommended Posts

I just bought a pair of black Eagle gloves and want to black out the large "EAGLE" lettering. What is the best method to do so? Would black rit dye work? I want it to be dark enough and not rub off. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

These wouldn't happen to be the ones that just sold on Ebay? San Jose colorway where the previous owner started to black out the E?

so far in my experience no, the paint is more durable than the regular Sharpie.

I used the India Ink recently to black out some Warrior AK27 Pros:

it worked great since the area was so large but my one concern is why the index finger on the left glove along with a couple of other small spots came out kind of "shiny". I don't think the India Ink caused that and it's really not noticeable but......

Those Eagles are awesome looking Old!!! Same deal with the Sharpie paint pens?

What form does the India ink take? A pen or a paint thing? I was thinking of going to an art supply store to look for a better way to black out my TPS gloves. The sharpie ink didn't work all that well and comes off more of a gray faded look.

black sharpie +1

Sharpie does not work, save your time... It just fades. Paint markers are not much better... Im on my third try using a permanent fabric ink because the craft store didn't have india ink.. It covers and looks better than the sharpie and the paint sharpie. If this doesn't work I will be ordering india online. Instead of wasting time and money go right for the india ink which people say works!

I've never used india ink for blacking out hockey gear, only for drawing, but why bother ordering it online? You should be able to find it easily at any half decent art supplies store, and it's always dirt cheap.
