Bad Situation......

Wow. No I don't think it's suppose to be like that. I looks like the wood bent after it dried out or something. Send it back Jack!! That baby should have failed quality control.

Every one of them is like that, they're designed that way.

Really? Well I stand corrected as you'd know better than me Chadd. My apologies. I've heard and seen offset blades, but offset shafts?? Talk about bizarro.

Afterthought: They should put some kind of tag on it explaining it should be bent and why.

I agree, it should also be noted on the website so you can see that before you order it.

The offset blade was to help elevate the puck and act like a bigger curve without the downside. This is just to add some zip. The fact you can string it up and shoot arrows is just an added bonus.

That seems a little weird....wouldnt you think to make it flex, youd curve it the other way since its a righty?? It seems like it would snap on one flexing since its flex'd " ( " and when you shoot it should flex " ) "....

By warping it backwards, simply getting it back to straight will load it. Bending it into a traditional "loaded" position should create even more load on it. If it was already in a pre-loaded position (already bent as you would shoot) it wouldn't be able to bend as much and wouldn't follow through at impact.

When the puck is released, it snaps back to the bowed position.

I love it.

I remember when my old Hespeler rep was talking about them, he mentioned that a retailer wanted to return all of them because they were bent. LOL

To anyone that has used it, does it affect your backhand at all? It does look like it would absolutely launch wrist and slap shots, but I would think it would make the backhand a bit awkward.

i guess they would make shot releases quicker because there is no need for a "wind up" on wristers, the puck is already behind you so all you have to do is follow through

Actually, I saw about 40 of them at National's Clearance Centre today, and NOT ONE was warped like that...I highly doubt that any stick is supposed to be warped, and if it were supposed to be, they'd mention it so that ppl didn't freak out about it.

Every one we ever had was warped. a lot of things you find at a clearance center is likely to be a second or a blem.

I thought I remembered those 50/50s being straight when they first came out, too. I figured they warped over time because the two sides of the shaft are different materials (one side a 5030-style shaft, the other side having fiberglass).

Sorry it took so long for me to find this.... :o ....guess Chadd and JR are good listeners since they pretty much answered the questions perfectly

Everything stated is true. the stick is bent for a reason. It acts as a pre-loaded for added kick. We were calling it the ERC - Energy return curve. (curve in the shaft). The model is presently about 4 years old they use to use tags the 1st 2 years. they had huge orange warning stickers with an explaniation that were taken since the model was no longer new. Plus they looked horrible.

Joshy's right, the stick does warp a little more due to the materials. Shooting side has Graphite reinforcement and the backside is a aircraft veneer handle.

If I missed something post it and I will answer.
