Jake's Pro Shop in El Segundo seems to have got the rest of the Kings equipment for the year. Stopped by yesterday and there are a good number of skates, some pants, some gloves, and a fair number of sticks.

ton of pro stock helmets and 2 pairs of gloves for right now, umberger XXX's and Alberts 4rolls. guy at the counter showed me what might be going out on the floor soon, a few pairs of easton gloves and a mint pair of eagles with metal inserts.

I decided to head over to The Igloo today around 3. Sucks that they just closed when I got there. The pro shop looked pretty nice from what I could see. I'm gonna try to head back over there on wednesday when I'm off.

What are the Capitals sale usually like? I heard they re stock for general public. I need some good reasons to convince my dad to take me haha

I have gone off and on for the past 5 years, going to 3 in that time, don't remember a lot. I knew a Equipment manager really well so I got a wack at some nice stuff. Usually they are cool about re-stocking, and stocking evenly throughout. Although if you are a STH and want something bad, they can give it to you. They usually put a limit on the number of sticks you can get. My first year a guy literally left with maybe close to 20 sticks, I was pissed, then saw they restocked it before I got in....long sigh. If you want something, make sure you go for it from the start, 90% of the people will straight for the sticks, I will be going next weekend, going straight for some skates.

I went last year. I had a reserved spot in the second group (as a season ticket holder) and was about halfway in an approx. 100-person line (maybe less). There was a good selection of sticks, but mostly lefties. New sticks were $80, used were $40. There was a pile of protective (pants, shoulders) on one side that I didn't really check out b/c all of it would be too big for me. The glove selection was minimal, only Easton E-Pro style and RBK 9ks, all 15". There were mostly new ($70 I think), but some used for $40. There was a decent selection of skates, but those seemed to get attacked first. Best deals in the house were shafts and blades for $5, pro RBK Edge socks (new and used) for $5, and pro practice jerseys ($30 I think).

The good thing is that they re-stock after each group and I also saw them do it a couple times during the time my group was there, with the gloves at least.

The caps players are notorious for being equipment whores, so they usually have at least 2x more equipment than most sales, most of it being unused. I am pumped to drop some coin on some skates and maybe a few sticks, blades, or something that is too good to pass up. Which is what you usually get from these guys.

Anyone go to the Canucks Sale? Some douchebags were switching stickers on sticks and skates but the cashiers caught them as they were ringing them through and called them out on it.

That's terrible. I heard that happened before when it was held in the concourse, but employees seemed too busy to notice. Glad they caught them this time.

Went two hours after opening. Slim pickings to say the least. Wasn't looking at sticks too closely, but there were plenty when i left. Gloves on the other hand, almost nothing left besides the stock rbk's, some Glass, Torres, and Hamhuis gloves. Samuelsson gloves which were in bad condition. None of those interested me. First time, i didn't want to buy anything and left with nothing.

Read about it every year. Glad the staff busted them on it. Wankers.

Anyways, didn't go this year. My buddy did and said there was a pretty beat up Bieksa Total ONE stick going for $150 (asked him to check out the RHS selection for me).

At the canucks sale ther first 3 guys to get in grabbed every single RH stick and inspected everyone and wouldnt let anyone else touch them until they were done. saw them leave with one stick each after. Some guys went right for the gloves and just grabbed everyone then only bought like one pair but im stil happy with what i managed to get.

FYI the email to Caps STHs giving the time slot assignment says: "There is a limit

of 4 sticks per person at the equipment sale."

Sounds reasonable. I was hearing 2 for a little while. I think 5 would be too much, 4 is perfect. You figure most people if they buy sticks only will buy less than 4, so you figure 2-300 people coming through, the numbers look good.

This might be an obvious question, but does anyone know if the caps sale is cash only?

Caps sale accepted credit cards a few years back.

^ The last 3 times I have gone, they accept only cash and credit/debit cards.

From the email to STHs: "We will be accepting Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and

cash as methods of payment. No checks will be accepted."

Did they tell you what the prices were going to be, or any details about the gear itself?
