For me, it's depended on the skate. In really stiff skates, like a one100, I left the top eyelet undone. In a more flexible skate, I lace them all the way up. I like added flexibility and knee bend it provides when using a stiffer skate.

I use all.. want my feet/ankle locked in as much as possible.. My ankles stat to hurt when I am too loose in my skates..(then again they also hurt when they are too tight)

I skip the top eyelet. always have. I'm just more comfortable that way. I have a friend who skips the bottom eyelet. I don't remember the specific reason why.

thats different, i use to have a kid on my team who would skip the second eyelet and use the top eyelet

I use all of the eyelets on my skates. I've experimented with other styles but I always go back to lacing them all.

I've heard a lot of people skip the top one. I've also heard that some people like to skip the second from the top eyelet and go directly from the third to the top eyelet. To each their own.

Probably had short laces.

No top eyelet for me. Never have, never will. Tall boots only.

no, there's was a specific reason for it as far as support. maybe to keep the front part of the foot looser?

I used to lace them all the way up, but when I got my One95s I tried skating without lacing them all the way up (just didn't do the top eyelet) and it felt good so I stuck with it. There is a guy on my team who skates in X60s and he doesn't do the top two, I asked him about it and he said he's always skated like that since he was a kid so he sticks with it.

Used to lace all the way up, then skated in my old graf 735's for a couple of seasons and got used to the low-cut boot. Now that I'm in one100's, I don't do the top eyelet
