But you should have contacted Bauer by now regarding this issue, have you thought about getting a Lexanguard?

Jagr actually but nice chirp attempt... I called them friday and they said they would call back still no word as of today

By looking at the pictures of where the stitching is loose:

What size/width are these skates? The lacing over the tongue looks much closer together than I would expect to see on Vapor skates. Generally, the lacing and eyelets are farther apart over the tongue on Vapors.

Is this the same width you always wear?

What does "messing around with the skates" mean?

The fact that the skates are made in China is irrelevant. That fact won't be changing so we might as well all get used to it.

Your retailer dropped the ball. It is his responsibility to contact Bauer, not yours. Sorry to hear about that part of this situation.

They are size 7 D , my last two pairs of vapors were the same size and width no similiar issues. Messing with the skates meaning i took the insoles out and felt around the inside. The funny thing is the retailer is a large widely known company.

Ok, I just wonder if you're foot is too narrow for a D width. I don't see that as the reason for the stitching coming apart, though. I haven't seen this problem on any APX skates we have sold or sharpened in the shop.

Not at all im 24 now and have been wearing size 7D since i was 18. The stitching problem isnt bugging me as much since when i tighten the skates you cant notice. The main thing is the toe cap and how thin it is in some areas. Could you do a me a favor and check yours on the inside to see if there is any difference in material used around the inside? thanks

Just because you've been in the same size for 6 years doesn't mean you're in the right size.

Regardless, your retailer dropped the ball and should have contacted bauer, not you.

Do you know how long they were baked for?

This was the deal for me. Luckily, being the skate whore i am, I have extra skates, and I was able to figure it out after a few skates on my APX's and gas them accordingly. I am a true C width, and the retail D width on an x60 worked fine on my foot. The APX boot is definatly wider in the D width than the x60's were.

Like i said before it is the right size skate, don't chime in if you don't have anything to contribute

And that kind of response didn't contribute anything, either.

I am also of the opinion that you are probably in the wrong size for that skate. Could be a 3/4 fit off, I wouldn't be able to tell without actually seeing your foot.

Strange im a 8.5 shoe, have no pressure points or discomfort wearing them, no cramping and my toes lightly touch the end. Im no expert but this seems like more of a production problem to me since the toe cap problems aswell.

Actually wasn't chirp attempt, there are Ovi editions.

He did contribute, if you would stop being a jerk and see that he asked you a question.

How long they were baked could have a significant impact leading up to your problem.

From a stitching perspective, it almost looks as though the bobbin ran out of thread. The loops are all there and do not look ripped out by the photo. But it looks like that happened on both skates? It would be very strange for that to be the problem on both. Maybe a machine setting was a bit off on the lot? Either way, I would expect Bauer to stand by the product if it is 4 months old, you contacted them but did not give them a chance to reply before flaming them. Production issues happen, let them do you right.

Let us know what they say.

Couple of thoughts. Yes, it could be manufacturers defect. Truthfully, the crap coming from China has the worse quality control, especially stitching. Yes, the toe cap could have been molded wrong as well. Yes, it could also be normal wear and tear. Was the stitching that way when new? A hard shot can rip out stitching and weaken the plastic in the cap as well. A hard shot can break a cap, outsole, etc. This wouldn't be covered by a manufacturers warranty. Also, if warranty is 3 months, the dealer is correct if your 4 months into the skates. Dealers usually can not replace items out of warranty. In that case it's best for customer to contact the manufacturer for a goodwill replacement. Lastly, if your skates are just 4 months old, why does your steel look so ground down? Looks like they've been oversharpened.
