Vapor X:60 Pro Glove Owners...Gotta Question For ya

Recommended Posts

Whats up Guys!

I picked up a pair of 13" Bauer X:60 Pro gloves about 2 weeks ago. Really nice all around glove! I've always been a classic 4-roll user, up until I threw these on, and decided I'd go with a bit of a more contoured fitting mitt. Been loving everything so far, but I notice that my hands have been getting EXTREMELY hot while playing. Uncomfortable to the point I find myself taking them off in between whistles or on the bench to get some air. I've never had this issue with any other glove I've used (this being my first set of Bauers.) Previous pair were Warrior Franchises, and never happened with them. Any of you guy's have this problem with the X:60's? Bauer Gloves in general? Or any other glove for that matter? Curious to hear what you guy's have to say. In all my years of playing hockey this is the first time I'm experiencing this sensation.

Thanks in Advance!

I have a pair of X:60 Pros and they do seem to get pretty warm, but my Franchises get just about as warm. LOL as a matter of fact I often take either pair with me when it's cold out driving to keep my hands warm.

Hmmm Weird...

This is my first pair of Bauers, and also my first "tapered" style fitting glove. I dig the X60's because they give you the wrist mobility 4-roll style does, but sits nice and formed on your hands. I love them so far for that design. Reason I decided to switch style glove was, I wanted something that'd just feel like an extension of my hand really, proper fit, and not get in the way.(If that makes sense)

Only thing I can attribute the heat to might be that there aren't any gussets on the glove (yet my Franchises don't have gussets) and also the snug fit. (Not uncomfortable though) My Warrior Franchise 13" are a "Wide" fit so, I'm thinking I have more hand room to breathe in them even though my fingers are still pretty much right up to the edge. I haven't been able to try on a Franchise 13" regular fit, curious to know how that might play.(Snug or not) In all fairness the X60's are a 13" that felt truly perfect on my hand.

when i first got my x60s i thought they were hot as hell. i attributed that to the palm actually being intact instead fo torn to shreds like on my old gloves. after using them for awhile i dont notice my hands being hot anymore though.

You're not the only one, honestly. I went from two pairs of 4-Rolls to X:60 Pros and definitely noticed my hands sweating more at first. It's something I got used to quickly though, I don't notice it as much anymore. I've been meaning to go back to the 4-Rolls to see if there's any difference, however.

Im sure they arent the same, but I just got a pair of X40SEs from an LHS and they felt more warm than my Easton Pros. The Pros are a traditional vs the 40 contoured, but like you said, I also found myself taking my gloves off during gameplay. Im not sure which feel I like more; contoured vs traditional. I like different aspects of both. I always cut the inner liner out of all my gloves, so even contoured gloves fit somewhat more loose than intended.

As do I, the X60s are my first ever pair of tapered gloves. I've always owned traditional 4-roll gloves. Playing in the x60s though is great because it feels like the 4roll mobility in the wrist (never feel restricted at all) and also feels like just an extension of my hand. I can't really explain the feeling unless you've played with them, but I truly am starting to like them with each time I play in them more and more.

On side note...played in them tonight, and didn't really notice the heat too much. Maybe I'm becoming accustom, or maybe they're stretching out a bit. Either way, pretty satisfied.

Can't say I've had this proble with my X:60 pros but that might be because I came from team issue Harrows that were tighter and had less breathability. I do remember going from my EQ pro's to the tighter Harrows I had a similar problem where my hands were at the point of being uncomfortable because they were too hot. On a side note I love my X:60 pro's. They fit the closest to my old Vapor XXX pro's that I loved.

Had mine about 3 weeks now, worn about 5 times. I haven't noticed they're any hotter than any other glove I've worn. These bad bods were also quickly broken in, I love my new dexterity...

I've been wearing mine since the summer they came out (July-ish of 2010?) and haven't had any problems with heat. Maybe your jersey is cutting off air getting into the glove from the back? I really can't think of any real good reason. That one was actually pretty dumb to begin with :p

Wow Aright...

It's about the 10th time I've played in them now...and I can't say enough about these gloves...

They are AMAZING! The heat is no longer an issue. (Or maybe I've just gotten use to it, but I doubt it) They are becoming so loose and flexible and soft, it's amazing how mobile they are. By far the best pair of gloves I've ever owned...and I mean that.

One thing I've noticed coming to a Bauer glove from other brands is that the thermomax liner material can feel pretty warm against your skin. I usually pull out the liner of my Vapors, which gives me more volume and reduces the heat by a large margin. You do adjust to it as well, but for me it feels a lot better without the liner against the back of my hands.
