Superfeet

Recommended Posts

It's based off of your shoe size, but given that the skate size you mention could be on the border between shoe sizes, get the larger Superfeet (size "F"). I have used the Superfeet "F" in both a 10D X:60 and a 10.5D APX. I did have to trace the Bauer footbed on the Superfeet and then trim the Superfeet. They are designed to be customized in this manner.

Easy method: use the sizing chart.

Faintly less easy method: find a size in which A) your heel sits as diagrammed on the Superfeet package, neither sitting too much inside it nor slopping over the sides, and B) in which your arch is matched by the arch of the Superfeet.

The sizing chart is there to be used. Read the web site, order the model that covers your size, trim if your size is not the largest that model covers.

Why? I got the E (9.5 -11) and it slipped perfectly into my One95 size 11.

I'm pretty sure the yellow superfeet are sized based on skate size, the other models are done by shoe size. Sometimes people go up or down a size to get the best fit, but if it's not possible to try them out it's pretty safe to order the one that matches your skate size.

I've got yellow, and the sizing chart doesn't differentiate between sizes for the recommended footwear types, which include hockey skates and western boots. But I guess it doesn't matter at the moment since we're discussing only skates, and the insole size matched my skate size perfectly.

It has nothIng to do with matching your skate. As a general rule most

People go 1 size larger because the cup heel is made very small and the arch too far back on these insoles. I have skinny heels and had tO go a size uP if i didnt want my heel to slip over. Dont worry about trimming the excess

Youtube it , hockeyus has great video about it

When i picked mine up i went to the store and they had all the sizes out they had me match my foot to the actual superfeet insole, But since you are trimming the superfeet based off of the insole of your skate if you can take your insole with you and match them up.

I took out the size my skate and placed my foot on it while sitting and standing. I also brought the insole from my skate to match up as well. Hockeyus.com has a how-to video on how to size and cut superfeet.

What you wrote does not make any sense, and do you really need to repeat what i wrote two posts above?

IW says its to US shoe size, ive also seen that you should go up one size for a wide foot.

i've had all the same issues with going with their size chart, arch is back to far, and narrow heal cup.

Obviously, the BEST way to get the correct size hockey Superfeet is to pull out the insole of the skate you intend to put them in and compare them in person to the Superfeet insoles. Heel width should also be compared in addition to length. If an out-of-the-box Superfeet size matches your skate footbed exactly, then consider yourself lucky.

But if someone cannot compare the original skate footbed to the Supefeet insole, then they can only go by the Superfeet sizing instructions, which say to select the Superfeet size based on your SHOE size. This includes the yellow hockey Superfeet. If someone is on the border line of two sizes (e.g., sometimes they wear an 11, 11.5, or even a 12 depending on the shoe style), then getting the larger size Superfeet and trimming will ensure that they won't slide forward/backward in the skate more than the required 2mm. (The Superfeet guide states that it is IMPORTANT that the Superfeet insoles be able to move forward/backward in the skate 2mm. I'm not sure many people know to do this).

Anyway, there is a lot of information about Superfeet on their website. I highly recommend people check out manufacturer websites and product catalogs for good info on the gear they are interested in. It will make sifting through the opinions on MSH a lot easier for them.

Been using SFs for years and didn't know about this rule - always thought they need to fit snug... What's the rationale behind it?

On a completely separate note having gone back-forth between a setup with and without SFs I've been wondering if anyone who tried the same cares to comment on what their experience was since thinking about it I'm not entirely sure I can feel all the benefits advertised?

Superfeet are fit via the size of your heel. Thats where all the support is in the product. For example I have large heels, I am in a size 7 skate but a size F superfoot (which IIRC is roughly for a size 11-12 skate), It does NOt go by skate size, those are just recommendations to give you a general idea of what size you should be in.

The rationale behind the space is so that the footbed doesn't curl. As far as not feeling the benefits, it is likely that you are part of the ~20% of the population that has good feet. There's nothing wrong with sticking with the product to ensure they remain that way.

That recommendation is, like hakan said, a safety. Just follow the trim-to-fit guidelines and you should be fine.

SF isn't for everyone because it's one shape and people's feet are different. Completely reasonable to feel that SF isn't doing too much for you; it's not for everyone. It's also completely reasonable to feel that SF is a drastic improvement.

Fit Superfeet based on the size of your heel. This may not be the same size as the guideline on the box for your skate size. Your heel should fit properly in the heel cup, not spill over, not have too much room side to side. Take out the factory insoles from your skates, align with the Superfeet and use a pen to mark the area on the Superfeet where you should cut. Use sharp scissors to cut slightly inside the line you drew. Only trim the front portion of the insole. Simple.

Superfeet offers a 60 day fit guarantee (or was it 30?) so they will refund you your money if they don't work for your feet. You may want to check with the retailer you are planning to buy them from first though.

I know Hockey Tron doesn't honor that return policy so I've been stuck with one size too small SF for the past 6 months. I know, I'm a lazy one. I figure in 3 months it'll be time for a new set and I'll get the right size this time.

Sorry to hear that. First time I bought SF I got a size too small and IW told me to just send them back even though they had been cut to size already.
