replacement for one95?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I've been using the one95 for many years now and I love it because of the blade, it's built like a tank. But now their getting hard to find and I need to replace it. What would you guys recommend? I want something with a strong blade but without affecting the weight, etc. I play D and want a stick I can get a lot of power out of on slap shots, but for spring I got moved up to fwd, so I want a stick that does well will snap shots. I want to spend around 150-180 Also what blade should I get? I'm currently using a staal p91a because it was the only one95 I could find.

So you want to replace a $200+ stick with one that is great for slapshots and snap shots, has a durable blade, with no balance problems and do it all for $150-$180? You couldn't even do that with a One95 when it was new.

Ya, I guess I sounded too strict with the requirements but pretty much something similar to it. For me the one95 worked great for snap and slap shots. And it's balanced enough

Why not get a shaft/blade combo? You can still find some One95 replacement blades around from time to time. Get a Total One shaft and One95 blade if you can find it... or Total One blade if you can't. Same general kickpoint, durable, fits the price point, and will feel 95% like your current stick if you get the One95 blade.

I'd say the apx meets all the criteria listed, but it sure is not within the price range.

The apx flexes much lower than the one95 does. The blade feel also isn't close to that of the one95, IMO.

Hows the blade durability between the apx, totalone, and one100?

the apx has the same blade as the total one

Not true. The TO has Aero Foam II in the heel and Powercore 3 foam running the length of the blade, whereas the APX has Powercore 3 foam in the bottom of the blade, and Aero Foam in the top.

Not sure where you live or if there is a sales rep in the area, but BASE hockey makes an awesome stick. It is fully customizable (blade, lie, length, flex, color, blade material, shaft sticky or smooth, color, name and number, team logo, etc.) The going price is about $155 dollars if you know exactly what you want (if that's the case you can order online). Otherwise, you can be fitted on ice while taking shots to ensure you get the exact stick you need for a small one-time price. This is more or less a pro-stock stick, fully customized for you (easily a $240+ value) for the price of a mid-level stick... The stick have great feel, solid construction, are light, and pass and shoot very nicely. I went from a One95 to these and will never go back.

miken z9 but it's a low kick stick. My 1st one only lasted 2 weeks and the warrantly i got was a mislabel stick (got a drury style blade labeled pm9 equivalent) even then i would still buy another one.

Base isn't in the same league as miken or bauer?

Not close to the One95. I haven't used the Miken and can't compare that.

Does Harrow do custom blades/curves? & change the hosel from Tapered to Standard?

And finally, do people know how much they run for?

I'm in Michigan, I'm not sure if they have reps here. I thought about getting a Base stick back when they came out but never did. My dad used to know Iafrate, not sure where he is now. He used to get me the "black beauty" sticks hahah I thought they were the sickest sticks ever.

Short answer, no. They will not design a completely new stick for you.

Dude I feel your pain. I too was in love with the one95 and tried everything and just couldn't find it. I'll never understand why a comp. has a slam dunk product and has to replace it.

I've had to 'settle' for the totalone, which is still a great stick, but not a one95

I switched from a One95 to TO without noticing too much of a difference in feel. I definitely prefer the TO to the pingy feeling of the X:60 I tried for a while. If you're patient you can snipe a new TO on eBay for around $150 shipped.
