Is it an actual e28? friend of mine was on the fence about this cause he says couture's cureve isn't an e28. he didn't want it to arrive and not be an e28 curve.

It looks nearly identical to my mako 2 e28. If anything it MIGHT have a little less rocker on the heel.

Other thing is that mine was cut to 58" and had a 2" wood extension installed...

I just got a couture E28 synergy 80 flex and it's way whippier than my 75 flex v7

I watched a YouTube review of the v9e and the v9, and the guy pretty much said when using the v9e - go ahead and get a higher flex rating because of how the bottom of the shaft is.

Is the v7 the square taper? If so, a 75 flex v7 would be the same as an 85 flex v9e.

Edit: this was it

Yeah, the v7 is traditional taper, but so is my pro stock couture.

Taking a closer look at the taper, it looks more like a mako 2 taper than the v7/v9 taper

I just tried out my Doughty 80 flex and it felt more like a 75 and possibly even a 70. I have a 75 stage 2 and a 77 apx, and it was def whippier than the other two. Performance wise it felt good. blade feel passing and receiving were fine. Snappers were good, but wristers and slappers were OK compared to the apx. I think it is because it is whippier and I need to adjust to let the stick to more of the work and put less lean in the shaft. Overall, a good stick for the price, and probably would have been better if I got an 85 flex.

I know Eastons are known to be whippier than other brands, but I would think that an 80 would not feel whippier than a 75.

So just got my e3 Parros in today. Stick looks great, and the grip and shape of the shaft actually felt better to me than the ribbed v9e that I originally wanted.

My only potential issue with the stick is that it is extremely long. I usually cut standard sticks down 2 inches - which I know usually adds 8 to the flex rating. This stick is probably 6-8 inches longer than a normal stick - so is this really gonna make the 95 flex into a 127-135?
It feels pretty whippy, and even when holding it at the point I'm going to cut, it seems to flex a good amount - probably the same as an 85-95 flex stick.

Anyone else get a super long area 51 stick?

the flex is probably rated at the standard length, and the additional length just adds more flex.. i

Parros is 6' 5". Probably his ideal height stick when cut. Only gets dropped once or twice a game.

That's the risk you take when buying a pro- return/stock stick.

Easton retail sticks are made to have a "cut/flex" rating. In his case I'd assume it's the same and that the listed flex is 95 after cutting about 1.5-2 inches from the shaft.

I got the Cammi (E3 clone) in the Stealth taper in an 85 flex and it was the standard length. My last Stealth was an S19 in a 100 flex and my last Easton was the Mako II in an 85 flex. My Area 51 certainly plays stiffer than the Mako II ( then again the Mako II is widely known to be a cooked noodle) and to be honest it's been a while since I played with the S19 so I can't say how it compares to it.

Yea this makes the most sense. I cut the shaft a good amount, and its still very flexible (exactly what I would expect a 95 to feel like). Im guessing they just rated it at 95 if it were standard length, and the extra length is just like a big plug.

Since I liked the other two I bought so much I picked up one more of these Synergy Grip sticks in a different curve, this is the E35 toe curve, very similar to the Warrior Gionta that I had a while back.

No chance that you snapped a pic next to a standard length stick? I just saw this "x-long" listed on the HM and it instantly perked my interest.

I Still have the portion of the stick that I cut off, so I can measure what it is now, and give you an estimate of what it was before I cut it.

I did snap a pic, but the stick its being compared to isnt standard, its prob 1-2 inches shorter than a standard stick:

When I talked to the girl, she said I did order a regular one, but they sent me an x-long version, because they didnt have any normal ones. The site now lists a normal, and xlong version, so if your looking for a standard length stick, they might have it.

Contact them if your not sure, and I think they have a "pro stock stick specialist" or something like that that can tell you whatever isnt listed about the stick.

I have 2 of the Whitney E13's and they are a more open Darby. Think of a Darby with a Drury face.

Do you have a pic you can throw up of this blade? Those hockeymonkey illustrations drive me nuts.

I'd like to see the E13 as well. I'm torn between the settling on the E6 or trying one of the E32, E97, and E13 HM still has hanging around. Been trying to find a less wedged, 5.5 lie, more gradual round toe heel to use instead of the Drury.

For anyone who has used the Synergy Grip (V9): How does the 85 play? I normally use a 75 standard taper, 85 eliptical taper in Eastons but have heard the more recent iterations (V9, Mako 2) play pretty soft.

Lastly, on the extra long pro stocks, is the flex profile "re-scaled" across the longer stick, or is it literally just a standard 85 with a few inches added to the top? Not sure if that makes sense but hopefully you guys get what i'm trying to say here.

I have an 85 flex Synergy grip and it does feel a little softer than I expected. I was coming from a TotalOne, so it could just be the difference in flex profile as well. I really like the twig though, it feels great. I ended up getting another one.

I'm on the hunt for pretty much the same thing.

Any pics of the E13? My brother loves the Drury but wants to try something just a little less aggressive. Oh and anyone have a clue what the difference between the prostock synergy and synergy ST is? Are they both a V9 construction but the ST (similar to past synergies) just a little more beefed up and durable? (thicker sidewalls and blade).

Whitney lie is a lot lower and that picture is way off center. Its not as easy a transition as you might think.

Would you say the lie is close to a 5 on the easton scale?
