chrisehyoung 14 Report post Posted March 4, 2014 Most of our games are an hour which I will assume is the norm. We generally play ball hockey Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch time at work for an hour. Wednesday and Friday nights are ice hockey for an hour. On Sunday nights we play 2 hours of ball hockey. We generally get in 4-25 minute games. After the 20 minute drive home I can barely get out of my car I stiffen up so much. This is after a good post game stretching session.
Bengerm77 11 Report post Posted March 4, 2014 I play roller on saturday mornings and occasionally we go for 2.5 hours, though usually 2. I then have an hour drive home, and by the time I try to get out of the car my legs don't work. I have actually fallen a few times when I was more tired. I find an hour and a half is the best amount of time to play.

IPv6Freely 2092 Report post Posted March 4, 2014 I think it's 2x 15min run time (3 min penalties), and 1x 15 min stop time. That's more than enough for me :)
Stewie 721 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 used to have a group of guys id play "pickup" with for 4 hours after a rink closed, I really miss those days. Now, i think 2 hours pickup in the max i get in, or if i hit the pond i can be there even longer, but i havent played pond hockey yet this year with moving. maybe ill change that soon! MN old and slow 92 Report post Posted March 9, 2014 Played our last outside game of the year 8 Mar started 8a ended noon. Two sweep breaks. 40 degrees today park done for year. What a great winter at the rinks. One of the best as far back as I can remember. Time for the " how long do you fish" question.

MThockeydad 469 Report post Posted March 10, 2014 Usually 1.5-2hr at drop-in. ~2min shifts and generally only 1 shift on the bench and back out. I'll go about 1.5hr playing pond hockey, too. The city fubar'ed the pond in December (flooded 12" of snow and the slush froze) and it was gross the rest of the year. C-league games are 3x20min stop time. 1-1.5min shifts and 3 lines. I get a lot more of a workout at drop-in.
pmedow 2 Report post Posted March 10, 2014 Our league runs 2 x 22 minutes halves with maybe a minute break in between and a 5 minute warmup. I find that's more than enough time and most of the guys are tired at the end of that.

Deerok 3 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 Longest I played was 4.5 hours.Legs were cramping up (calf, hamstrings, quads) towards the end where I could not literally skate. it was essentially free ice time/extended scrimmage after a game (3x15 minutes periods).Loved every minute of it, because I knew it was a gift.: )
Mattc555 22 Report post Posted April 4, 2014 I played three consecutive games a few weeks ago. Got to the rink at 7pm, left at midnight. Each game was 15 minute stop time, three periods. I almost couldn't stand up when it was time to leave. lol
