Taking a shot off the inner thigh

Recommended Posts

I was playing drop in at my school a little while ago, and I took a shot off my inner thigh. Luckily, the shot wasn't that hard, but it made me realize that there is no protection in that region of my pants to protect me. Does anyone know of any mods or products that could protect this area more? Thanks

The only things I can think of are to switch pants (higher end pants or girdles usually have better inner thigh protection) or try a padded jock. I have one of the shock doctor padded jocks and a Warrior girdle and don't get any inner thigh bruises like I used to.

I've never seen pants that have much on the inner thigh area. Mobility would likely become compromised/really uncomfortable if they beefed those spots up. Sure, there are other under things you can buy, but unless you're primarily defense, and constantly getting drilled there- you'd be better off being as loose as possible.

My quads, nutz and hips are covered well when I play... thats all I'm worried about.

Exactly, too much loss of mobility if tried to cover every piece of the body.

Utterkaos, how long have you been playing and how many times have you been hit in the inner thigh. No matter how hard the shot it shouldn't be more than a bruise and some pain.

Troy Lee makes a protective base layer short called the LPS 7605 that has Shock Dr. Tech. on the inner thigh.

I've only been playing a couple months, but I'll be playing in a league up at my school and I'll probably be playing defense. If I have to block shots I'd like to be in as little pain as possible, lol.

Don't turn. Square up if you're blocking a shot.

This. Shots to the inner thigh should be very rare and pretty much only off of deflections.

Look into a pair of catcher's shorts for baseball players if it really bothers you. They will have some padding on the inner thigh.

I got dinged a couple weeks ago by a clearing attempt. Hurt like a mofo and had a huge bruise. Oh well.

Accidents happen, obviously. But if he's going to playing D and he's concerned about getting hit in the inner thigh, never turn from a shot. It's instinct for some people to turn, but all the major padding and protection is in the front of you. I've been playing D for the better part of 20 years and can't remember ever getting ding'd on the inner thigh.

Where I've been dinged is as a forward fighting for position and my teammates shot hits me on the inner thigh. Look to get same padding from older pants, shin guards and sew it into you existing pants.

Yea, definitely. Keep your legs together when blocking shots, people!

I've only been hit on the inner thigh once. I was trying to slide over to cover a shot, and my leg was open. It hurt decent, but it is a rare occurrence.
