No More Vector Skates?

Recommended Posts

Our CCM rep was in today with all the new stuff but the thing that caught me off guard was that he said it would probably be the last year for the vector skates. Anyone else heard anything similar?

Did he just leave you hanggin' with that? No follow up? Nothing about why or what might replace it? I know CCM was in a funk for a couple of years, but geesh. It would seem that when you get it right with a cutting edge skate that's doing well you would keep it in the line-up for a while.

Vectors are successful?

I'm sure people thought Externo was too...ha

they have been for us. We must have sold about 25 pairs of Vector Pros last year. Considering we only got 35 in, id say thats successful.

Around here they are a very popular series of skates. 3/10 kids i see has some form of vector skate on.

Hey, I've been a fan of the Externo's and a couple guys on my team are also happy with theirs.

I am talking industry-wise...the Externo bombed for CCM...

They seemed to put a lot into marketing them as well.

Not to change the subject here, but what's the story with the ProTacks? I thought they were the flagship of the Tack line. They too have only been around for a year or two and now they are getting blown out for $219. As far as I can see, they are every bit the quality as other companies high end skate and very light weight too. Are they coming out with another Tack again?

It's funny though, it took the externos a while to go into closeout. What was the deal, was there not a lot of markup on them?

Has anyone seen/ heard about it? What is going to be the difference? BTW, I just ordered the blowout $219 04' Pro Tacks.

That figures. I did'nt think I could go wrong with the 04' Pro Tacks (someone please give me positive reinforcement) . I like the idea of the lace lock, but I hope the money I saved will outweigh the small changes. BTW JR, are they going with the E holders like on the Vector?

Getting a 400 dollar skate for almost half price pretty much outweighs cosmetic changes and lace lock. That alone makes it worth it

What the heck was "Externo"? Just a name for another skate line?

yea they were ccm's answer to the bauer vapors a few years back, they were really stiff, and pretty heavy. If you look at ccm vector skates the chasis is on them is called externo still, so i guess one good thing came out of them for ccm
