I'm just curious about what side most of you board members shoot from.

My info:

Write right

Hockey left

Golf right

Baseball switch, but better batting right.

When shovelling, I have my rh on the end of the handle like a lh hockey stick.

Write right, shoot right, throw right, can switch hit but am a natural right handed hitter. Play golf right handed as well. I think being a right handed hockey player came from being a right handed baseball player first.

how can you guys that write right handed shoot left? that just seems akward to me.

I have more control over my stick that way...and when I have only one hand on the stick, it is my stronger more dominant hand. I do admit however, even though my accuracy is still pretty decent, my forhand shooting suffers a powerloss this way. However, with more practice, I'll have the power up to par in no time. My backhands are wicked though.

Edit:

Good point beans makes about the guitar...A righty playing left is like strumming a guitar.

only reason i play lef is cuz the person who touch me was a lefty. i guess i started to play righty when i was tiny but all i had for sticks were left handed so i had to learn how to shoot that way.

I play write with my right and shoot with my left simply because the first stick I ever got back when I was about 6 was lefty, and I just didn't know any better. I like it now though for the reasons 2way gives, but I don't suffer from any powerless anyway I shoot though. I do hate it though when guys don't know how to pass to a lefty and they put it were a righty would want it... pisses me off.

It might also be related to when a person started hockey. I think that younger players will put their dominant hand on top when starting out, but older players who have been exposed to baseball, tennis, golf, etc. would put their non-dominant hand on top.

Hockey lefty, because your dominant hand is supposed to be on the top. I have no problems with shot power. I can do pretty much everything switch, except for throw, I'm just terrible at leftie throwing.
