I've had durability issues with the TPS blades since they switched to the pre preg manufacturing process. Almost every one of them split at the toe. I've never had any luck with Easton blades, other than the old Ultra Graphite.

those things were bricks, they could definately take a beating though.

I agree with the theory about the pre-peg process, the blade on my response+ broke after only about 8 games. This was only pick up! As for my XN10, the durability was terrible. After playing in two tournies last year, the damn thing looked like it had been used for a year! The stick just fell apart so fast. The shaft just couldn't withstand ANY abuse whatsoever. I'm not one to typically grind it out in the corners, so that wasn't the case. Despite all my problems with those sticks, I really loved the balance and feel of the TPS sticks. However, I paid $279 & $249 CDN respectively for those sticks. I know OPS don't last forever, but I really should have gotten more mileage from those sticks. I definitely won't buy another Louisville stick again. I only paid $220 for my last couple of regular synergies ('02 & '04) and got a lot better bang for my buck.

Thats interesting. I've had my first generation pro stock XN10 for 14+ months now, and its still going strong. It doesn't even look that bad. I haven't used it in every single game or ice time, but I'd say at least every other. The blade is a little soft, but its still usable. I like it more than I like my brand new Stealth.

I don't understand why the weight of a blade would be an issue. I mean If a few grams diff. means you cannot get a certain shot off then practice more. I love training with my old Easton Aluminium shaft for the simple fact it weighs a tonne and builds up my strength. Even my game shaft has a an old school Koho Kombo comp blade in it. Weighs more than a modern comp blade but lasts longer than 3 games moreso!

Ever since I started going to this board, I started to drift further and further away from Easton stickss each day.

A few grams is nothing, but put those extra grams at the end of a stick and tourque will make it "feel" heavier.

Sure, a "heavy" blade feels like a feather if your holding just the blade, but on the end of a stick it's a different story.

Not to mention it throws off the balance of a stick if you're using a light shaft.

My friend that got the warranty said that it came with a thirty day one and they gave a new one. I just got one and i didn't see anywhere about the warranty. I'll ask him next time that i see him.

Eastons are not durable!

I sold a customer a Havoc blade last week, came in today with it broken. $50 down the drain. I had tried to sell him a different brand that I knew was a better blade but he just "had" to have Easton. Unfortunately, easton has suckered so many into it's trap. I just don't feel sorry for these folks any more.

im gonna be nice and defend easton, ivr had problems with tps and bauer before, but never with easton. when its come down to me dealing with eastons customer service a couple of times, they were great. i guess a lot of it is luck, and what type of stick is best suited for your playing style.
