Favorite Playoff Series?

Recommended Posts

My favorite was back in like 2001, when the devils came back from a 3 games to 1 deficit to win the Eastern conference finals. That was probably the greatest week of my entire life(not really), until they won the cup again the following week.

2001 and Bourque would top my list. Others would be 82 Bruins Vs Sabres and Brad Park's overtime goal to win it. Any cup featuring the Oilers vs the Isles in their prime is also game.

Yzerman vs the blues, err i mean Red wings vs the blues were stevie wired that one over Turek's shoulder. One of the nicest slappers ive seen.

Wasnt that Stevie Y's first cup? Great series either way.

It was Jon Casey. I love that goal.

For me its Game 7 '94 Western quarter Van/Cal.

2001 Finals. Great Series.

But the top of them all were the 94 finals, one post away.....

Last year was entertaining, but too early to be a all time fav.

Also throw in the heyday Oilers, hockey at its most perfect. Too bad I was between 2 and 8 yrs old during those years.

I believe it was 5.3.00 The Avs Win @ Det. in OT in game 4 off of Drury's stick. Forsberg, Drury, and Roy were the stars again.......Man I miss those names together.

I agree with the statement....pretty much any Avs/Wings series (except the last one, that was hard to swallow!!)

Man I completly forgot drury even played for the avs. He is one of my favorite players.

The single dumbest thing Pierre Lacroix ever did! Peter and Drury had an unexplainable power out there.

I feel bad that he struggled in NY. Some players are exceptional but can only be as exceptional as the players around them.

drury was so clutch it was scary. he and forsberg were wings killers come playoff time.

that being said, i think the entire 2002 red wings playoff run was unbelievable

1994 Eastern Conference Finals

I'll never forget staying up and watching Game 7 in my aunt's living room - then crying when it all came to a grinding halt (I think I was 7 at the time...).

Obviously, as a Devils fan, the 1995 Finals against Detroit will always be special - but my personal favorite would have to be the 2000 Eastern Confrence Finals against the Flyers; you other Devils fans here feel me...

While I also love any Avs-Wings series (especially when the Avs won), my favorite series is still probably the 1996 Avs-Blackhawks conference semis. The Avs were down 2-1 in the series and were dangerously close to 3-1 until Super Joe saved the day in double OT in game four.

That was the series that JR and Roy talked smack and gave us one of the best quotes of all time, the "two Stanley Cup rings plugging my ears" jab. If the Avs don't win that series the Wings-Avs rivalry would have never happened, and Kris Draper's plastic surgeon would not be as wealthy as he surely is now.
