Cheap wood sticks

Recommended Posts

Has anyone here ever used some really cheap wood sticks that you actually liked, despite them being cheap and maybe even low-end? Today I went to some sports store and they had discounts on most everything in the store, and I ended up buying a cheap wood stick just for fun. It's called CCM Tacks 1052 Sr Pro (probably an older model, I'm not sure?), and you can see a pic of it below. It was really cheap at US $33, but I thought it was just a fun thing to try, and I did like the pattern (there was nothing printed on it so I have no idea what the pattern is called).

I bought a cheapy tackla wood stick about 5 years ago for roller. It was light and

and very flexible, not bad for $15. I could really crank some shots with that thing, but it didn't last long.

Towards the end the Canadien 6001 sticks were under $20 at Dick's. I went through them like water but I loved them.

i love the sher-wood 9950 jr it's says 85 flex'ion but the flex is amasing more like a 60 it feels like the curve is a Coffey. i buy em for about 25 bucks (can) but the blade wears out fast

i don't know if I would call $33 cheap, I got a couple of sher-wood 5030's for $20/stick.

By Swedish standards (25% sales tax etc) it's pretty cheap. A regular Synergy was around $315 when the season started (probably cheaper now), Vapor XX $250 and Vector V110 $290. The top wood models range between $70-$85 (all prices in US dollars).

lol those were my sticks back in the day, i used to use those all the time, the 9950 coffey jr. I always liked a shorter stick, and the jr was perfect length. I agree with the flex, after a good few uses it was like havin a blade on the end of a rope lolol.

I still have one lyin around. I tried to shoot with it a few weeks ago, and i couldn't get a shot off for the life of me. I'm using stiff flexes now (like 110), so the sherwood feels like rubber.

Bauer 1000 Lindros curve!

It gives me a feel with the puck that with my easton ultralite(110flex) i can only dream!

However in comparison to composite sticks it weight like a alot more, but costs 10 times less...

Paid 25CND for 2!

That seriously sucks petey.

But as for the topic, I forgot the model name or number but I remember picking up a black bauer wood stick years ago. It was a lower end model, under 20 USD and the graphics were similar to Bauer 3030's (second generation paint job I think).

The stick felt just as light as the 3030, very nice.

I said it on corebeam and I'll say it again.........long live bauer 3030's and SW 5030's :) Both average approx. 20-27 USD.

We have a chain of super discount closeout stores near where I live called BLDG 19. Last year they had some CHEAP Russian sticks, around $3.00-5.00 US. They all got snatched up. Funny how people percieve a deal and go for it.

LOL, you mean the coffee in the 50-gallon urn, NEVER. That stuff is toxic! I think they just keep on toping it off and reusing the grounds. :-)
