What are your pet peeves on certain players.

Slow defensemen who pinch in *way* too often. Once in a while is fine, but when there's a clear passing lane, he should make the pass instead of trying to skate end to end and around the opposing players. It slows the game down so much.

I couldn't care less about how people decide to style up as long as they pass the puck once in a while.

I almost forgot guys who refuse to get off the ice during pickup games when there's one spare on the bench. It's like it's never their turn or something. So basically, I dislike selfish players.

I hate those Jawbone visors. I hate those JOFA helmets like Selanne has. I hate kids that don't pass and try and skate through the whole opposite team. I hate kids who don't go in corners and expect you to always do all the work just because they are scared to get hit. I also hate kids who slash somewhere because they got hit.

people at games who wear 1 home and 1 away sock, hasen't happened on my team for a while. the day it does someones getting a knuck in the jaw.

people who just cant admit when they screwed up, arent as good, not skilled...they just blame the stick, or their leg is sore...crap like that.

People who seem to get hurt just about every shift (every rinks got one of these guys).

People who buy/use equipment not based on what it offers, but just based on looks.

People who play hockey with the sole purpose of trying to break you in half and the only reason they play is cuz they got cut from the football team

I can go on forever...people who drink soda during a game, Postal tape on the shin pads(over the socks)...cant stand that, theres more but i'm brain dead now

Little kids who cant skate using OPSs is definively bad. Also there's this player on my team who keeps circling the perimeter of the offensive zone with the puck whne he gets it, doesnt pass, doesnt shoot and eventually gets stripped. <_<

Its a stop sign that says "STOP" so you don't hit people from behind. I've only seen it on Canadian teams.

We were required to wear those STOP signs this year because it's some new state rule. I don't mind them unless they're some obnoxious color like lime green. And yes, I have seen people with lime green STOP signs on their jerseys.

The idea behind it (no pun intended) is that when you see the Stop sign, subconsciously your mind will make you pull up from hitting the player from behind.

Believe me, it doesn't work. From personal experiance, I've been taught to follow through with my checks, if the guy turns it's his fault. I'm not saying I smoke when they are standing a foot from the boards facing them, but if they know I'm coming and they turn, it's not my fault, IMO. I know that makes me sound like an a****le. Also most of the time you don't see the sign untill it's too late anyways.

- Kids with all high-end gear who can't play hockey. Their parents should have spend the extra $1000 on hockey schools.

Players that never shut up, they yell and scream the entire game, most of the time from the bench.

Players that stand at the far blue line twirling their stick in the air waiting for the puck, then starts his vulgar filled speech slowly skating up the ice.

Players that will attempt to skate through an entire oppostions' team, when they have 4 open teamates.

Ice hockey players with Postal tape on their shin pads.

Players that are all mouth, they will skate up to you and say, "Wanna fight?" And as you approach they turn around and skate away.

Players that cannot accept the fact that they messed up on a play, and go onto a rampage slamming their stick on the glass and goal nets.

Blue pucks.

Outdoor arenas in the winter time.

Jofa helmets.

People, not players, people in general that cry to tear-up about every single thing, whether it be a death, or that they lost a pencil.

Players that wear a home and an away sock at the same time.

Players that constantly debate every single call or non-call the referee does or does not make.

Players with a $150 stick that cannot count that high yet.

I totally agree with you on when a kid turns and you hit him from behind. I get pissed off beacuse i went to make a clean check the guy had the puck then at the last second he turns around i hit him form behind and i'm kicked out.

You should have not been kicked out, but it's at the referees point-of-view. If he feels you had time to prevent the contact, than he will call you. If there is not enough time from when the player turns his back til you hit him, no penalty. Should be a penalty on the player for being so dumb.

It's a penalty to hit a guy from behind, ther refs aren't supposed to have a choice. Try playing more under control and you'd be surprised how many of those penalties you don't get.

If the player is dumb enough to purposely turn his back to you when hes facing the boards, then thats penalty enough for him. Thats a retarded way to play.

My personal favorite is earlier this year I was playing in a tournament and I went behind the net to pick up the puck. My back was turned and I was 2 feet from the boards. Some douche skates in from the hash marks and nails me right from behind. The kid got a 2 and a 10, and after the game I asked the ref after the game why he wasn't given a game misconduct (isn't that the USA Hockey rule? Head first into the boards, its a game? If not, they've been calling it wrong up here.) The ref told me that he went easy on the kid because I didn't stay down on the ice.

-Players who "run" on the ice because thier strides are too choppy

-Players over 10 years old who can't tie thier skates

-Players who have expensive gear and can hardly even skate

-Players who won't get dressed or undressed in the dressing room (that's why they're there)

- Players who don't pass

If you go into the boards, it's supposed to be 5 and game. Too many refs don't call it properly.
