sticks with similar feel to alpha nemesis

Recommended Posts

A couple days ago I broke my alpha. I tried to revert back to my old vector shaft/inno blade combo but it was absolutely dead and i wasnt used to the blade. I wasnt a big fan of the alpha shaft, so what sticks have blades similar to the alpha? Theres the obvious si core choice, but from my understanding the si core and alpha arent that similar in feel. Should I try wood perhaps?

ill give you my alpha stick for cheap and you can try to take out the blade...its barely been used, too stiff for me. if you go wood, the bauer 6000/7000 series is good. and national still has some cheap inno shafts if your intrested

i heard some one say that if you put a attack pad or the tool dip on your blade it well feel just like the alpha blade.

An attack pad doesn't feel the same.

I haven't tried an alpha blade, but Busch is now making replacement blades for Graf based off of their OPS. You could always try one of those. Busch sticks were known for their superior feel.

Aren't they still $250 for them around Vancouver(Richmond), or maybe they haven't changed the label, probably why they're are still alot around.

They're $100. I don't know why they don't just change the labels. I'm sure they would almost be sold out by now if they were.

Thanks for the advice guys

Well, I went to my LHS looking for wood, but was afraid I wouldnt have time to get used to it (I had an important game in a few hours). Anyways, I dont know what happened but I walked out with an SL. I must say though, after one ice time with it, it feels amazing.

nice. now it would really suck to loose in the city finals wouldnt it :o

You know what would suck even more? If it broke 2 minutes into the first period. Which it did. I had the stick a total of 3 days, and played 1 game and 2 minutes with it. I am INCREDIBLY dissapointed. The stick seemed flawless, until i brushed up against a guy and skated away with 2 pieces of stick. So, Im kind of screwed as I desperately need a stick to use now as my backup is pretty much useless. Do you think theres a chance i could just give a store (the store where i bought it doesnt have any 85 flex rh drurys left) the receipt and the broken stick and theyd let me just take one off a rack? Oh man, this stick has tantalized me. It felt so good, but was so undurable :(

maybe you was just unlucky...and the next SL you will pick up..will last a lot more...it happened me 3 time

1:Broke a franklin aircore by getting tripped when i was in breakaway so i fly in the net...my stick hit the post...the blade broke(it was sad because in 13 game, since the biggining, i had no goal and with the franklin after only 1 period i had my 2 first goal of the year!) Well.I got a warrenty, the stick last me 9 Month(before i have the idea to slap shot 3 time at the same time...the stick broke...)

2:I flexed like a dumbass kid my third franklin...it broke after 1 game...my warrenty one...last me 6 month before a guys of the other team...decide to hit my stick on the board...maybe he was afraid to hit me...so he hit the board and hit my stick

3.My r2 XN10 take a BAD slashing after 1 month and a half it broke..i had chance TPS still warrenty my stick...so now i'm using my R2 XN10 since 4-5 month and got no problem with it!

So maybe you got unlucky...and if you like it...you should just give the SL another chance!

Lyndon ask Original Stx if they will just replace the SL with one that they have on the shelf, alot of the larger stores do this. I'm sure drury isnt the only curve you can use, and this would be a better situation then buying another SL because the original warranty replacement wont come in time. Or maybe try out another stick with a drury pattern.
