My first Rookie League game is this Sunday, I am excited. I'm sure the ability level of the skaters will be all over the place. Oh well, got to start somewhere. Also, my buddy whom has played goal all his life (and is 10 years younger) is going to give me some on-ice instruction at a StickTime on Monday. I am thinking of bringing the GoPro for that one. Side note, the same guy mentioned above works at Goalie Monkey and said I just missed Ryan Miller by 10 minutes yesterday when I was on my way to the store.

I would not go with Crew+. At 220, I would say the Comp would be the lowest price skate I would recommend. Team would be better.

Yes, you got to take into consideration many of their radius are tailored for Swedis/scandinavian skaters. A north american skater would whine about the skate feeling like a ski, as such not many of us would like that particular radius, just like we don't like skating on 1" hollows.

Great taste in boots there: Mega Air 90's, Graf G7's, Vapor 10's.

I love the teams. Good level wheel, nice boot and chassis, and you can get it in several sizes on clearance after codes for around 150 shipped. To me, at that price, its a steal and what I advise most people I know to do when they have boots in bad condition and see my teams. Now im in max's for indoor which I scooped up for 240 after codes, they have over 100 in wheels alone. The main upgrades that I am interested in on the max+ is the quarter and liner, but I have to see if I am going to stick with roller before id invest in those. I was fairly successful my first season back, switching to the max skates about 3 weeks ago. some guys at a pickup even commented on how quick I was, and were shocked when I told them I hadn't played but the last 3 months since '00. is it the skates? now to just get the stopping down, I have noticed it easier with the addiction wheels though.
