I've never once heard of an issue with anyone bringing a Sparx or Prosharp on site. I've definitely witnessed it multiple times as well, as I've officiated nunerous tourneys of all age levels at the facility. That being said, count me in as someone who purchased a Sparx solely because you seemingly never know what you are going to get from a manual sharpening at any rink, Pure, or the Hockey Monkey, from about exits 13 to 30 off rt. 495. Kind of sad that is the current state of the area nowadays.

If you have any questions regarding the program, ask it in here. We are currently waiting for the other profile templates to be delivered to us, so please be patient. Also, we foresee a ton of interest in the program. We won't be accepting everyone at once; it will most likely be in waves.

Decided to bite the bullet and order some custom of these. Excited to see how they turn out.

Could be why they went with multiple automated machines... FWIW, up the street isn’t much better. I’d say, below average at best. These are my local options. Hence why I now have my own machine. I was there (up the street) yesterday. Store was pretty busy, yet only a single pair of skates in the sharpening window. Safe to say I’m not the only one displeased with the services at that location.

They probably aren’t concerned with the $30-50 loss in revenue after selling you a $1000 machine... But I’ll ask next time I am there.

I've never tried them but was checking them out and comparing them to the Step Edge steel. The LHS owner said them sharpen well and are good quality steel but had less steel when I compared them directly to the Step's. I ended up getting the Step black steel for my Edge holders and couldn't be happier with them.
