After the 4th paragraph it started to feel like an advertorial for Elite. Didn't take long after to realize that I was right.

I had my 2 week postop yesterday. I am now allowed to drive, lift up to 15lbs, and swim (within reason). I can even go back to some desk shifts at my gym job. I had a nice light swim this morning, and I'm going to go see my horse buddies on Friday. (Can't ride for another 4-6 weeks).

Not really if all they're offering is standard cuts. You can go see Greg and Jeff over at Total Game Plan Sports - they're former Total Hockey guys over in St. Charles; they have a Blackstone machine. Tell them I sent ya. Or you can send them to me. Refugees welcome.

Where I am, we get three days, and they're not paid... basically three that can be missed, due to sickness, without getting let go.

Agree with this 100%. I'm more of an agility guy on skates so I like being able to cut sharply on the ice. I had a perfect 100/50 FBV cut every time at a local pro shop and gave it up for convenience of Sparx. I played around with 3/8, 1/2, and 5/8 FIRE since my kids were still in the experimenting phase so I bought those to try. 3/8 gave me super fatigue (I had to try it) so I went to 1/2 FIRE thinking that was the 100/50 equivalent but it still was too much fatigue in the legs. I had little confidence in the 5/8 FIRE thinking I'd be sliding all over the place since I'm only 160lbs, but after trying it, I'm in love. Absolutely no sliding during tight turns. I got my kid on it (from 3/8) and have noticed a significant difference in getting to pucks (no look of fatigue and great bite in the change of directions). If kids can go from one extreme to another, it means it's just all about adaptation. For a guy coming from a shallow 90/50, they may also want to experiment with the 3/4 FIRE to start.

My wife started her job in May. 6 months until she can accrue it. Sadly some employers still don’t have it. she’s still looking for another job.

Howdy, Fun day today. My son, now 12, gave up hockey a couple years ago after giving it a year or two and it never really clicking. His gear has been hanging around the house since. Today we went over to visit a long time friend of my wife, whose 8 (?? I think) year old daughter has just discovered the game and is falling in love. She's been going to learn/practices twice a week in rental/borrowed gear and LOVES it. We took along my son's old stuff and between that, a trip to Play it Again, and a stop at Perani's her daughter is all setup. Super cool to see how excited she was as well as how involved she was in getting gear that she liked. If she keeps having even 1/4 as much fun and enthusiasm for the game as she showed today, she's a lifer. Mark
