It does. Looks like it was an original part, since it matches the hex shape.

Let me see if I can clarify as I do not pay as much attention to the details of the head forms because I do not understand all that is entailed in the whole thing. But I do my best in the meetings to understand the main points. The head forms VT uses are football head forms. Therefore the head form is not attached tot he head the same and is modified to do so. The IE and HECC and CSA all use a standardized head form for hockey helmets. They all fit and are attached the same way. However, VT uses a modified neck form that NOBODY else uses to attempt to simulate rotational impacts. The neck form used is made in a way that is not the way a hockey player would take a hit and the end result would be squed, from an actual real-life playing situation. My understanding is all the hockey helmet testing programs have been vigorously working over the last 4 years to come up with a test for rotational impacts and the present hockey helmet using the head form used in testing now. It's not as simple as sticking a head form on a neck form and calling the test results facts. So far all the testing has given non-consistant data and hence why there is no set program yet for rotational impact testing.

For a finishing touch to protect and add a super hard layer you might want to look into a clear coat for car wheels (Duplicolor and Krylon make them from what I remember in gloss and matte). I used to paint car wheels, usually rattle can a set for the winter with snow tires, and that stuff protected from road salt and snow like a champ, could only imagine it would be really great on a cage too. As for cages I currently have a Reakt on one helmet and a Profile II on the other. I honestly don't notice a difference in weight once they're strapped on, not one bit. The one thing I do notice is that I don't like the shape of the Reakt as much, it sits closer to my face and has an odd shape from the side, currently contemplating picking up a second Profile II to replace the Reakt with.

First step was to prep really good, I used ... https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klean-Strip-1-qt-Liquid-Sandpaper-Cleaner-Deglosser-QWN285/100112667 I used name brand rattle can Paint/primer in one.... two+ even thin coats on the outside first!! Once (completely) dry, push the cage down on a soft/high density type foam and spay the white inside w/ multiple coats. (The reason for the foam is if you just let it hang in the air while painting...over spray will get on the outside and make the black look bad. I let it cure for a good week and it has held up great for the last year and a half...only noticeable mark on the front was from a skate that clipped my cage. I just touched it up with a black paint pen, you can't even tell. (reassurance why I wear a cage!!!!) Scale of 1-10.. maybe a 3 (not hard) just time consuming waiting for all the layers to dry/harden.

You want to know what's funny? I shipped a TRUE helmet to Virginia Tech this week from my Pure Hockey store.

Ya cause the VT test means anything when it comes to safety. Completely useless and such a croc.

It really depends on what has caused the lace bite, sometimes a thinner tongue will work - no degradation in the tongue because of lace pressure and the thinner tongue means more volume in the boot, this may be just enough to relieve / shift the pressure on the tendon.

My son's had some time in the Super Tacks girdle. And I've been comparing it to the NXG and Dynasty girdles which we also have. My summary after a month or so is... mixed. Good: Kidney protection, fit around the kidneys, Lower back/spine protection, hip protection, light weight. Bad: The groin piece that makes it more of a 'pull on' instead of a wrap girdle, the thigh protection which seems to want to twist towards the outside leaving the inner thigh exposed, the high belly pad which sits a bit uncomfortable above the waist. Tailbone protection is also somewhat questionable. I've already taken the scissors to the girdle, trimming the belly pad above the velcro so that it's level with the velcro (and re-stitching the trim), and cutting out the groin leg/butt piece. So now it's a wrap girdle, and other than maybe some concern the tailbone pad could shifting upwards, it feels a lot less constricting and more mobile with that cut out. Overall it's at least as good as the Dynasty, but they are very different and have their own appealing features and drawbacks. The NXG is comfortable but I would still rate it less protective than either of the other two. One thing I would say about the Super Tacks girdle is that the sizing runs towards the small side. If you comfortably wear medium mens in a typical pant like the Nexus, the medium Super Tacks girdle might be too small for you. Part of my problem with the groin area of the girdle and the thigh pads shifting might be related to the sizing. My son is 5'10 175lbs, 32 waist, which depending on the height or the waist is at the top or bottom of the sizing guide (he's at max height, but minimum waist size). Really recommend trying these on in-store before purchase to confirm you get the best fit. colins
