I got a chance to try on (and bake) 8.5R Cat 9 skates. Those skates fit smaller length wise than the 8W I had for TF9. I might be getting a pair of the 9s so if I do I'll be sure to compare the lengths and see how they fit after a proper bake and everything.

Received my total custom jetspeed ft4 skates from dukes 3 weeks ago, geez, best skates I’ve ever had. Shout out to Manny for making this experience as smooth, simple and quick. If anyone from the GTA is looking for a custom pair, manny is your guy !

It's AFTER the 23-24 season. Won't be UA. They're in bad enough shape having been at $27.28/share a year ago, now at $8.98. The math doesn't add up to do a deal, even at the "rumored" adidas number of $70m/season. Is NB dumb enough to do it? Fanatics was to make the "replica" jerseys and adidas the "authentic". Don't think CCM has the minimum $70m/season for the deal; same with Bauer. Nike has someone to make the jerseys, but, do they have the balls/ego to do it? If the deal were worth it on all levels, not just on a monetary/revenue level, for adidas, would they still walk?

Literally just put them on for sizing, they weren't cool enough for me to get an idea of the stiffness sorry.

If we are referring to the actual net profit, after factoring in all costs, they are making very little.

The point I was getting at is, just because margins are high that doesn't mean they are actually turning a profit. I have seen plenty of examples of high ticket items where companies still lose money with each sale. No one here seems to acknowledge what it costs Bauer/CCM to design, build, market and ship a product. All that cost is factored into the product cost. Companies don't make a single penny of profit until that cost has been paid off. With these short product lifecycles and low volume sales. I doubt they make all that much profit from an $1100 skate.

They'll be going Canadian.....Lululemon. Picturing Brent Burns modeling the off-ice team issue yoga tights.

I had good success some years back with what you are calling "wedge shims". I was in a softer boot and my feet naturally pronate (arches fall, internal rotation of the foot, wear the inner heel of my shoes more quickly). The combination of soft boot and biomechanics made it less natural to get on my outside edges. My LHS shimmed the back post of my holders on both skates. The shim took up only the external half of the mounting area (from centerline to outside of heel) and was placed between my boot and holder, held in place by the rivets. With a bit of experimentation, we got to a place where I was much more neutral on my blades. I've also at times experimented with heel shims inside my boots. These are common in the sport of cycling to correct biomechanics against a fixed pedal surface. There are a lot of similarities from that perspective. Both approaches had similar result to re-mounting the blades further to the inside of each foot, but no extra holes needed to be drilled. I've found for the most part, people typically do not move the holder position in hockey (like they do in speed or figure), but instead shim to adjust the natural balance point. I've found a stiffer form fitting boot (True TF9) reduces my pronation and need to shim. That could just be correlational, since I am now skating way more than I was back when I had shims and have built up a lot more strength in all those little muscles, but there could be something to it.

League deal. It's all about money.

Doubt that NB/Warrior will go down that road. False doesn't have the money.

Maybe Warrior or TRUE Sports. $70 million/season seems to be so high that a manufacturer won't break even in profit on jerseys, replicas and team apparel.

They last longer than my attention span before wanting a new stick 🤷🏽‍♂️
