Applies to many cities in Asia... even in Singapore. And before others slag me for being racist, I'm asian myself. Send us a list of books. From what I know the books in Singapore are much cheaper (when I was in Uni the books were soft cover and $30 each, but same as US Uni). My cousin is in the Uni now, and might be able to get the books at a cheaper rate for you. Just trying to help... Own Vent: Dealer GM rips into me for selling 6 machines at 10% margin instead of 2 machines at 15% margin... go figure.

Went on short vacation, driving up about 600km with another family to just relax. We decided to head out to see the Great Barrier Reef, and let me tell you that it was shite getting there as the swells were really bad. I think about 95% of the passengers were laughing when they demonstrated how to use the barf bag, but almost everyone used it at least once (my son 6 times, me about 3 times). Eventually got there, and the trip was worth it. Got to snorkel with my 7 year old son, and he's never really swam in the ocean before, let alone water that was clear up to 25m deep. A day well spent... the drive back home was easier, with more stops along the way. Managed to stop by the Bundaberg Rum Factory, and bought a couple of bottles for the next few weeks.

Snide remark wrangler? I'm just going to keep coming back!!! It was a good game, apparently my team hasnt beaten the other team for over two years, and the last time we got hammered 5-1

Some of you know, I was laid up in hospital with a pretty bad leg infection about a month ago. Docs pumped me full of antibiotics, and virtually put me back on my feet again after a couple of weeks. Played my first game back tonight. 1st shift, 1st touch, 1st goal. Just a shot from the point, which I redirected between the goalie's pads. Same shift, got the puck on the left, and just let loose with a quick snapper that went in blocker side. That basically set the tone for the whole game. I had so many quick snap shots, one that I tried to go low but hit the post. Also had two semi-breakaways, both of them I deked to my forehand before pulling to the backhand. Both times the goalie bought it and was really out of position... only for the puck to roll off my blade at the last sec. 10 sec left in the game and I had another redirection between the goalie's pads that was stopped just on the line. My line is starting to click together. I have been paired up with this other guy for the last few games, and somehow we've managed to find each other with no look passes... one touch plays, tic tac toe passing... been starting to all gel together. 7 goals, 7 assist in the last 4 games. Thats coming from finally putting me up in front and not sticking me in defence like the last 3 years.

Heard my first game back will be against a team that beat us 5-1 the last time. If I remember correctly, one guy skated backwards into me (me almost stationary) and he glared at me like it was my fault. Told him, 'you skated into ME buddy, and if I wanted to hit you, you'd know it'

H, am really happy to here that things are looking up! Most recently I had the most unfortunate experience of ending up in hospital with a leg infection (long story) that went from bad to holy-f*ck-thats-really-bad in less than 24hrs. In short, had I waited another 24hours or so I would still be in hospital. Docs just cleared me to get back to playing. I pretty much had a shock when I saw the bill... never expected it to be that much, not like they hired ex-models to be nurses and for those wondering, no they did not sponge bathe me. Found out that essentially all the bills would be covered under my company insurance plan, so I'm not worse off in financial terms. I've missed two games, of which my team mates have sent me messages saying that I've been missed at the rink... Looking forward to playing next week, but wont be pushing myself too hard.

I wouldnt mind paying an acceptable premium if I know that I'm going to get good service, friendly banter etc... but when the LHS has preferential treatment of some of their customers, then it just goes out of whack.

I agree with that statement, but I've seen a pair of Mission Boss SE selling for $1199 here, even after its been out in the market for over a year. Also, a totalone selling for close to $400 is just not something I would pay for.

Humberto, congrats man! Sweet spot for me... going home after spending 8 days in the hospital.

Still in hospital with this infected wound. Cabin fever... sucks bollocks. Doesnt help that there is no real good programs to watch on tv. Whoever said the local drama "home and away" is really good has got to be flogged. Its boring as batshit.

Ended up at the emergency clinic today with the swollen leg. Doc says he's real close to admitting me to hospital, but dosed up on some antibiotics. I think it was some trauma to the muscles, which then became infectious... you pay more at this clinic, but boy did they treat you right. 4 people attending to you including the doctor. Lucky I can claim it on insurance (Sweet spot)

Got hit in the upper thigh on Tuesday night's game, and its starting to hurt like a b!tch now. Dont know why but the area between the shin bone and calf muscle is swollen and throbbing. Any chance they could be related? I didnt get hit in the shin area, but its the same spot as a few months ago.

Starsfan, best of luck man. Keep strong

Best scoring game I've had in a LONG time. Over the years I've slowed down considerably, and didnt have much confidence in dekeing past defenders. Today I managed to get my feet moving, even pulling off a few quick dekes. Somehow managed to get 2 goals and 2 assists on ONE shift. Somehow everything just clicked, shots going in (after ringing two off the crossbar earlier on) and passes right to tape for easy tap ins

Went to the ice rink during lunch today... first time on ice in 20 years. Total times on ice = 3 :) Found out my blades were dull, never occured to me especially after playing inline for 15 years. Kept sliding all over the place, but after about 10min I managed to skate with soem comfort. Was still sliding but at least moving. Left the skates there to get sharpened, so we'll see how it goes next week.

Guy I worked with calls me yesterday, invites me to the opening game of the AFL season. He got 6 tickets, and asked me to bring my family along. Great dinner prior to the game, relatively good game as well. We saw the ex prime minister of Australia Kevin Rudd 2 rows away and there were HOARDS of people taking photos with him. We didnt even get a chance to get close... game ended and we were walking back to the car, and walked past the VIP/COrporate Box entrance... Ruddy is standing there talking to the public, and taking photos with whoever wants to. We asked for a photo and he abliged... asked me my name, and when I told him it was Kevin as well, he said he liked that name very much. Great fun... even though the local team lost, I dont support that team, but you could see they were shattered after leading the whole game, only to lose by 2 points in the last 30 sec due to a referee error.

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
fatwabbit replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
Would be pretty difficult to get a chassis that lines up correctly. Why not just go with whatever you are happy with, rather than what fits? AM sure the carbon outsole will be able to hold up to the rigors of inline hockey.- 2845 replies

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
fatwabbit replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
Here's a question. This is the first time I've encountered something like this, so will need some advice. I've got a pair of Graf 709 skates, and after removing the Cobra holders, I found out that the bottom of the outsole has some recesses like this pic of some Bauer XXXX http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index.php?/topic/8504-show-it-off/page__view__findpost__p__856152 I lined up my sprungs that I'm going to mount. The rear seems pretty good, new holes need to be drilled. 3 of the 4 holes that I was going to drill in the front was no issue either, but one of them is right on the edge of the cutout/recess. The footbed still feels solid, but wont be as secure as the rest. I can make do with another hole, but wanted to ask if anyone has had some issues before?- 2845 replies
