Australia Day yesterday, had a small gathering with friends at my place since we could see the fireworks from our living room. When the guests were leaving, some of them found that their shoes were missing from the front of the house.... woke up this morning to find that my car that is parked outside my house was broken into. B@stards made off with about $15 loose change, my company fuel card (which only works with my car), broken calculator, and my prescription sunglasses. NOt exactly in the roughest of neighborhoods either, but we've got that many stupid teenagers roaming the streets these days.

CCM Vector V08 helmet size medium, black and paired up with an Itech Ti Cage Played in this helmet for about a year for dropin, league and Nationals Fit - The helmet does fit me more comfortably than other brands, and I agree that it fits bigger than other helmets. I'm a L in Mission and Easton, but for the V8 I got a medium and its not even at the largest setting. Adjustment of the helmet is really easy, and doenst need to be touched once you have set it comfortably. I must have picked up a lot of christmas fat, since it felt a little more snug yesterday (first time back playing for 2 months). The foam is still soft and comfortable, and was very comfortable again after a minute back on my head. 9/10 Ventilation - Never really had issues with ventilation, but its definitely better than the old mission carbster. I still sweat buckets, but I sweat buckets while putting on my gear so it doesnt matter. Doesnt overheat, even in our hot current weather. 8/10 Protection- Having used other CCM helmets before, the protection seems to be better this time round. I used to have an older CCM HT2 and 692 helmet, and this one seems to hold up better. 9/10 Weight - When I first started playing years ago, I never really wore a helmet except for tournaments. However having played in Australia for hte past 4 years or so, its mandatory to wear one. I've gotten used to wearing a helmet, and this is lighter compared to the older HT2 or 692. Paired with the titanium cage, its a very very light combo. 9/10 Durability - i just chuck the helmet and cage into my hockey bag along with all my other gear, but the black color covers up most of the scratches and scuffs. I do take all my gear and put them on a rack to dry after each use, and so far its held up really well. 9/10 Good helmet... would recommend this to anyone to use. The v10 has the EPP foam, and if you are a size Medium in the V8 you might need a L in the V10 due to the memory pads...

Hey Zach, I'll take the grenade for you... Cant stand it when people are so friendly to you in order for their own success. When I first started working here, there was a service manager who was friendly, always askign you questions and stuff... now that he's been promoted to GM level, he doesnt give a rat's arse or even acknowledge you being the same room. Some people are just so full of shit... btw, I'm typing this while he's talking to a colleague 8 feet away in the next cubicle. Edit... Yup, and there he goes right out the door without saying a g'day or goodbye... Some sneaky b@stards just use others to their advantage.

At least you get snow... 37 deg C last weekend, and this weekend will be the same... come back winter! Went to a Regional Rep meeting, and the VP dialed in for the teleconference to deliver 'good news' that we're recovering and will get all our benefits back soon... two days later, email from corporate HQ comes out saying that we're still in the shit, so 1) no bonus; 2) no merit increase (that makes 24months); 3) if promoted you get 5% instead of the usual 10-15%; 4) taking away my company car... promises promises. When we heard the news, we were having a team meeting (just myself, 4 sales reps, and the boss). I said "doesnt make sense that we're all struggling yet we can get promises that are broken 2 days laters, this is really f-ing bullshit". I then walked out of the room to catch up with some others reps in the office.... everyone in the room thought I was just pissed and berated the boss later on for not doing his part.... plus, the boss still asks me to arrange for some meetings in the next few days, while realising that I'm supposed to be on leave for the rest of the year... Take all my compensation and benefits and still ask me to work on my leave days... dont think so mate.

Woke up at 5 when the sun rose (no bloody daylight savings)... made breakfast for the family, no time to eat cause I rushed to the airport to catch a flight... arrive at the airport, said goodbye to the wife and crying 5 year old son (promised him we'd play Modern Warfare 2 when I get back), found out that I'm 5 hours early and checkin doesnt open till 3 hours prior to flight. Tried to call the wife, but her mobile was off. Sat in the terminal (Perth International with two coffeeshops) for 2 hours to pass time. Finally checked in and went to immiigration. Immigration says that something doenst check out, got escorted to another area. background checks clear, but they said that someone with the same name as me has done something wrong, and chances are EVERYTIME i travel I would get checked... Random drug check on my bags, finally into the frigging lounge.... 3 hours to wait for flight.

stupid @#$%^&* skates dont fit.... i think the dozen or so in the last 3 years didnt fit either. Someone suggested One95, another to go with the Graf 7 series of skates... Never thought my feet needed more heel-arch depth, but apparently so... getting rid of all the skates... everything... hoping that with the money I can get back I can get some Grafs or One95...

Man! That's just a wolf spider, if they bite you get a tiny nickel piece of necrosis and thats it. The Sydney Funnell web (very close cousin of your Black Widow) is a deadly sucker alongside the Redback Spider as well. Funnily enough when I tried to kill that guy, a cockroach came running out. He forgot about dodging me with the fly spray, grabbed the cockroach and ran upwards into the ceiling space for dinner with the missus. I felt like Steve Irwin for the briefest of moments. ;) Yea, those Redbacks are friggin everywhere! I killed at least two dozen of them last year in my garage and garden alone.

replied... I dont have any deals going, just good mates in the US (you know who you are!) that help me score some decent gear at reasonable prices. At the end of the day I dont make anything since shipping kills me ... I aint a hockey store or biz, although my garage looks like one with the crap I keep buying. The kid that picked up the HE950 from me, traded me his One55 skates... on top of that he got these for free: 2 practice jerseys, old elbow pads, and brand new jock... The chassis alone on the HE950 was the same price as his skates, but I just wanted to help him out since he's just starting to play hockey. Also, some of my old broken sticks are in the hands of younger beginners ...- 2845 replies

Plastic clipboard. Its made of pretty sturdy plastic of about 3mm thick. Cut with sharp cutting knife (had to go about a dozen times to halfway, then use a pair of pliers to bend the rest of the way. It comes up pretty good, and the plastic is easy enough to use a file to round the edges or get it to size. Will try to take better pics of the heel lift, I made a few extra pieces for a sprung mount, but never got them installed when I mounted the sprungs.- 2845 replies

nope.... my son's old table top... basically a large piece of MDF Board that I put on top of a small table to enlarge the area for him to do his colouring. His mates came over and just coloured everything except the paper... It now sits on my makeshift workbench in the garage. The setup is really really light... lightest I've held for a long time.- 2845 replies

here is a flashback ... did these over the weekend... havent cut the bolts off yet. I was intending to do the mount with Tnuts, but the bolts I had were too long and i didnt have the bolt cutters. These are just for backups... am currently on sprungs (nothing else will do). You cant see it in this pic, but I've added a 3mm heel lift. HE950 boots size 9D mission vanguard Mags- 2845 replies

Aussie... it also means bikini clad women trying to skate on the esplanade near my place. I should just set up a beach chair and watch them go by... lycra clad cyclists are too fast, and the ones who walk are usually too stern looking Went to check my annual and flex leave schedule for the rest of the year... and I've got enough to basically take the whole of Dec off, as well as ALL the Fridays for the rest of the year... HR policies dont allow me to bring over more than 5 annual leave days to next year, so I have to clear the rest... And this year, I intend to stick to the rule of not checking work emails while I'm on leave.

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion

The chassis is pleny robust. I've used the same frame (mounted and remounted about 3 times) in league games, and played in the Nationals recently with no problem whatsoever... I block a lot of shots with my skates, and teh chassis has actually taken a beating but still remains ok. I've lost count of the number of times Ive had a alu chassis dent from a shot... once its dented its more or less gone. However with the sprungs you can swap our parts if you need to within minutes.- 2845 replies

no problem with the wheels sticking out at all. Like sdcopp mentioned, it also depends onthe wheels and chassis. The main thing you want to be cautious of is to ensure that the wheels are centered properly... so assuming you have about 1/2 inch sticking out the front, generally you would have the same 1/2 sticking out the back. I've mounted my size 9 boots on a7 sprungs, and looking down at my laced up skates i can see almost half the wheel sticking out the front toe cap. No problem with the skating or crossovers.- 2845 replies
