I use mine inside my sock
-
Exactly what happened to mine
-
Aired out after every skate and actually isn't rusty more due to bad camera I actually dont really ever try to block shots, I don't get paid to play so I am not blocking shots if i don't have too
-
It started with a shot, They got soft then just got worse with more skates. I am sure being 220lbs doesn't help when they became soft. Still wouldn't expect them to break from a shot as this hasn't happened with any other of the skates I had. S17's the stitching all fell out but that is normal for them I got them a little while ago when they came out, so out of warranty

The most unfortunate thing has happened to my mako's. The carbon fibre on the heel has split and shredded making them unusable as the boot bends to the ice on a small turn, I can completely push in the heel of the boot. This is completely unfortunate because these were the best fitting skates I have used in a long time and loved the flexibility. If only the durability lasted for me. Here are the pictures of my skates:

Agreed I always get a half size smaller, I have 8D because once they break in they are perfect. All toes scrape the toe cap after break-in

I had something similar happen to mine Seaner; my liner pulled up at from the bottom sole and tear a bit, I just did the hill billy thing and added a piece of tape where it pulled off and tore and it hasn't further more tore or pulled away any more. I can post a picture later when I get home from work to show you

I had a pair of 501's a while ago. They were very comfortable skate for its time (if they fit you correctly).
-
My New-ish skates i have had for about a month
-
yeah them LS2's have nothing on step steel.. haven't had step steel since my 705's, i have missed it.
-
switched out my ls2's to step steel speed and huge difference on the ice feel more glide and so far the edges are strong.
-
tongue is actually nice. Its not a graf tongue but it is better than the new bauer tongues, i like the thicker felt

Bauer Total One Flex:102 Curve: P91a Clear Time-frame of use: 3 sticks, 8+ months Aesthetics: Like the colour scheme, would like it to be all blacked out though. Don't care how a stick looks if it works well 9/10 Weight and balance: Good balance, very light weighing in at 418 grams is insane 10/10 Blade: Blades didn't chip at the toe at all, had great feel, but went soft after a month of mens league and pickups 8/10 Shaft/Flex: Great wide of the shaft dimensions a little concave makes me love the feel, again though shaft got whippy after a good break in but didn't hinder its performance. 9/10 Stickhandling & Passing: The great feel helped with stick handling, and with the p91a curve you got some nice saucer passes I have to give it 10/10 Shooting: Good response, not as great as the widow in this department but it up there with SE16 in mid flex sticks with shots 9/10 Durability: average durability for my each stick lasted 3 months and on my last one but I also play in leagues that use a lot of stick work and i am a centre. 8/10 Conclusion: Overall, For what I got these sticks for I would definitely purchase again. Loved the feel of the puck on your stick and the response I got with the release. Hoping to try the Nexus out and compare the sticks, currently have my last TO as a Backup to my widow with I will put up a review for in a month or so when i have more use on it. Overall 63/70 = 9/10

Product: Easton EQ5 Ht: 5'10" Wt: 200 lbs Foot Size: Size 11 nike sneakers, 10.5 dress shoe, size 8 skate Foot Type: narrow heal, mid-high Arch, E width forefoot (bauer) Level and Use: A league Men's league, 3-4 pick ups per week Previous Skates:Graf 705's, Easton s17's, Bauer x60, multiple Tacks skates Fit: fit of the skate has been the fit since my 705's. only problem area was my navicular bone on my right foot due to calcium build up from a chipped bone. After baking them twice and with JR's advice of putting a wad of tape over my navicular bone to puch the area out a little more during the secong bake they fit great now. The Heel lock on this skate is great my heel does not move, toe box fit close to perfect a little pressure on my right pinky toe but nothing major no redness after skating. 9/10 Blade/Holder: I was skepticle of RBII as they seemed a lot more flexible than the Custom+, LS2 and Cobra holders I have previously used. After a couple skates I got used to the holder and hasn't been a problem for me, only thing i question is the soft scalloped steel on the stock blade, Step or nanoglide would fix that problem. 9/10 Weight/Protection: These are probably the weightest skates I have ever used, seem lighter than the s17's I had with LS2's on them and definitely lighter than my x60's not even going to mention the tanks called 705's. Protection on these is the same as s17's overall good, but feel a lot in these then I did the x60's but still very good in the protection area. 9/10 Durability: Easton skates and durability, the question everyone always asks. Overall for what I paid for these skates the Durability is much better than what I experienced in the s17's, after 8 months of skating in these I still have all my eyelets and no fabric is glued on with these skates it all stitched. They have some nice scratches and dings over them but thats what you get when you play. They held up already 2 months longer than my s17's and I couldn't be happier with them. The problem durability wise with these skates are the cheap rivets I lost 4 rivets last week in one pickup and i do hang my skates upside down and air them out, never had any concern rivets on any other skate. Edited: 5/3/2012: 3 more rivets ripped out last night during a pickup. Skate is still good, but not a fan of the rivets. 8/10 Skate Build: This is a structurally sound boot, fixed a lot of the problems from the durability standpoint listed above but still has some flaws. The tongue on these skates are great no lace bite at all and I tuck my shin guards. boot is Stiff but has nice forward flex and it is pretty aggressively cut as it is a low cut boot. 9/10 Conclusion: Overall this a very solid boot, for the price you won't find a better skate I will say that. OVERALL: 9/10

Nice pick up Cavs, I will always be a graf fan because of the 705's.
