Appreciate the quick/thorough response. I was leaning toward separate girdle/pant set up since I use a girdle/shell combo for ice. Any recommendations for girdles? Unfortunately I'm have to order online since ref equipment is sparse here.

Embrace debate: should I get a girdle/pant combo or a girdle pant hybrid? Looking for pros and cons for each from guys that own either.

Colorado did the whole redesign thing right. Too bad Calgary and Washington didn't go down the retro road.

Anyone know if/when 2's will be discounted online. I'm ready to grab some but if I did and the price dropped a week later, that'd be a bummer.

I enjoyed the Supremes until the NXG. I attribute a lot of that to the thin tongue. Caused metatarsal pain and the lack of thickness made a 10.5D feel a half size to big. I'm very interested in the 1X because of the Speedplate and low volume. I know better than to judge a skate by just having tried it on, but APX 2s were the most comfortable skate I've tried on. How drastic is the difference in forward pitch between the CXN and Lightspeed?

The only reason I've never considered VH is that I have a very "normal" foot other than a slightly pronounced arch. If I had severe fit issues I'd definitely check them out. I got great wrap in ONE100s and ONE.9s. NXGs were horrid as far as heel lock and wrap. My big concerns in going back is the mobility and forward pitch. Injected lacing looks like it may provide more forward flex than traditional eyelet Bauers (?) but I wonder if it wraps as well as traditional eyelets.

^I'd like to know if there's an estimated date on that as well. I'm in the 1's now and they're just about ready for retirement. Also, has anyone here had experience with going from Curv to Mako and back to Curv? I skated in One100s (loved), One.9s (liked), and NXGs (hated). I switched to Mako and I've been in them for a year. Loved them until a few weeks ago when they started feeling very soft and causing pretty severe aching in my ankles. If anyone here has made that transition, how was it? What was the hardest part about going back to Curv?

2 Dallas Stars players have made the switch to VH (Cody Eakin, Ryan Garbutt) and 2 Defenseman are wearing Mako II (Sergei Gonchar, Jyrki Jokipakka). One of my local LHS finally got some in to try. Unfortunately they were about a half size too small so my size would need to be ordered, but I got an idea of the feel. It's very different but as you said, it's not flimsy or soft. The flex feels "right" and not awkward like it does in supremes when you don't use the top eyelets.

I appologize in advance if this has been asked before, but has anyone here switched from any of the Bauer skates with the Curv composite quarter to the Makos/Mako II? I've been in the top of the line Supreme line for 3 years. I like the preformance but they kill the sides of my feet. I'm wondering how significant the ankle support difference is between Supremes and these. I'd like to switch for comfort, but I also don't want a skate that feels flimsy or unstable.
