iPads are relatively cheap. I think the camera itself runs for ~300-400 USD with the 3DSizeMe software being included and/or free on the App store. Scans are sent as a pre-packaged file to via e-mail to an e-mail address (in this case True/VH's skate sale order department).

And it lost the "small shop handmade-look" charm for me, now.
-
Just something a little more unique. Wanted a retro setup and sent in my own leather.
-
Did you order directly through STEP?
-
I've found that the SB 4.0 and VH are comparable. Definitely stiffer than the Tuuk by feel.
-
I've found a lot of customers seem to prefer the feel of the CCM SB 4.0 and VH-Step holders, citing the holders feel stiffer and seem to transfer energy transfer. I will admit that the CCM 4.0 holders, being one of the few modern-height/pitch holders available to us that can take aftermarket steel, has a serious advantage for customisability. If you don't swap steel frequently, like the pitch of Edge/4.0 holders, and want Step or BlackEdge steel, this would be the route to go.

For the fiancee. :)

This is indeed the Hockey Shop in Surrey. Call in and ask for Jeremy, and we'll get an appointment sorted!
-
Glad you enjoyed the fit process. :) I've actually just e-mailed you your update. See you in soon!

Domi trying on VHs

Anyone have a lead for a pair of Mako IIs or Mako 1s in 8.5D? Looking for a buddy, but everywhere that stocks them in that sizing seems to want full pricing.
-
Keep 'em at 4th, loop lock at top 2.
-
Oakley hardware all day, every day.
-
Interesting. I actually have mine shimmed 1/8 inch in the back heel for more forward pitch. I came from Makos and went with a Tuuk holder for convenience. 1/8 inch heel lift built into boot, +1 forward pitch on the skate runner.
-
My LHS ordered them in for me. I think they're like 1.49 for a single lock. I got 16, enough for 4 pairs of skates. I used Oakley helmet screws as their nuts are much flatter and lower profile than Bauer ones.
-
CCM Lace Locks on the VHs. Keeps the fore/mid-foot loosey goosey, but the top two eyelets above the locks cranked. They are now my perfect skate.
-
I'm 140 lb at 5' 8". I've got their protection package and it isn't an issue. That said, the standard boot is solid enough that my girlfriend at 100 lbs, 5' 2" can skate in them no problem without any durability/protection issues.
-
Speaking of built-in shot protection (tongues and quarter panels). These are the VHs my friends and I all chipped in for as a birthday gift to a buddy. He volunteer coaches 3 times a week and has been wearing the same pair of beat-up One95s since they were released. Could never afford new skates. Here's to another few years! :)
-
Also if anyone has a copy of the VH foot tracing form, that'd be great - the links on their site doesn't work.
-
Is the current VH pricing still in CDN?
-
"okay"?
-
Did a couple photoshop edits of my buddies and I, in the style of Player's Tribune's Elite Snipers 101 Article.
-
Yeah. Don't crank the laces. Lace them snug, perhaps even just a touch loose, and then tight at the ankles for support.
-
Converted a handful of my buds and use them myself in my VH skates. Nothing but good feedback and adoration. (I even snuck a pair in my combat and parkour boots and they work so well!)

Six of my creations (I am on the far left) that were rocked during Halloween and will be rocked at the Star Wars Episode 7 Premiere. (Side note, got tickets for opening night!) Made everything, from the outfits to the lightsaber props.
