  1. Bought a pair of my 6th Warrior Franchise gloves. I love these. The best Eagle glove. Usually I give left hand gloves to someone because almost only top hand gloves would be tone.
  2. I post to share my impression about "enhance metatarsal guard tongue". I've read several person's impression about the meta-guard tongue on this thread as that they didn't feel better with it. So I ordered both normal and meta-guard tongues for my new 2nd VH boots. I had been using "double felt tongue" on my former 1st VH skates. It was thicker than normal tongue. When I baked my new boots with putting on normal tongue, sooner I noticed normal tongue is weaker than double felt tongue. I felt lace bite. So I ovened meta-guard tongue and put it on. Few members said that meta-guard was not better for them. But for me, it was much close to double felt tongue's feeling. I like meta-guard.
  3. Not metatarsal guard, another shot blocker plates built in the tongue?
  4. Are these mitts really Brians made??
  5. I finished 2nd ordering for my new VH. I hope I will be able to get them in my hands as soon as possible.
  6. Many rivets and some others.
  7. I've been using thicker double felt tongue on my current VH skates. The thicker tongue was suggested from Scott when I told him my swelling instep issue. My instep have little swelling and usually it makes boot's eyelet fin open like not buttoned shirt. The extent of my instep swelling and lace bite pain is not so serious, but I want to solve if it can. Then, as malcb33 said, the most primal fact which cause lace bite is lack of boot's volume against one's foot. Changing thickness of tongue definitely have an effect on solution for the issue. But also not primal. So I ordered with another option as cut the eyelet fin wavy to little inside to make straight line when lace up.
  8. Yeah I imagined similar thing before I ordered. Metatarsal guard option probably can prevent lace-bite but I wonder how will it be that flexibility of the ankle. So I've already ordered 2 set of tongues! Normal felt custom thickness tongue and metatarsal guarded custom thickness tongue. I want to reduce my skate weight as possible. So if lace-bite issue would be solved by custom thickness and special wave cutting shape of eyelet fin, perhaps I will not use metatarsal guard. Anyway I want to decide that use/ not use metatarsal guard by sense of whether comfortable or mobility.
  9. I've sent a parcel to VH. It's time to order my 2nd VH boots! New one peace tendon guard + fixing by little lean back angle Enhanced side wall protection Plasti-coating toe cap (cover wide area as almost same as new hard plastic toe cap) Enhanced metatarsal guard tongue + custom thickness Fixing LS2 holder with added 8 holes Convenient heel hole to access to LS2 fixing nut No bump heel design I don't know VH can accept all of these my wishes. But I wait expectantly!
  10. Before, After. I chose and bought a cutting tool for something soft material for example brass, gold or silver. The I contoured its blade length down to suitable for cutting copper rivets. Really feather feeling and flat section. I'm satisfied.
  11. Nobody can't say what profile is the best. 9'? 11'? 13'? 8'+12' combination? Flat center? There is no "best". Just there are better profiles for someone. Just try. It's the best way to make sure what is the better profile for you. If you couldn't feel any differences? It means you can skate with any profiles! It is so good talent. You don't need to worried about it.
  12. Started to write ordering sheet. Maybe I will order my new boots around Jan or Feb of the next year.
  13. And the shape like " --O " is built in shim.
  14. Rob would answer and send these photo for me.
  15. That was roughly 8600SEK. It's about 950USD. Probably if you are in US or Canada, Blademaster's riveter is cheaper than this. Both riveters are made by welding of steel material. The reason why I chose this is simply I like the looks. Here my house is not a shop or factory. Honestly I wanted to buy Challenger Sport's casting aluminum riveter. But it was no longer available. Casting products are hard to re-produce because it needs to move factory line and should make certain number of lot. So now we can find welding riveters in the market mainly.
  16. Thank you guys for giving these great photos! From a viewpoint to prevent scratch of the side wall with the ice, I was very interested in the new plastic toe cap. But also I've been feeling not good about similar gap of my VH's old style toe cap, so I wanted to make sure. Especially I've been using medial side shims to slide runner position artificially, so the condition of under sole is important for me than other members. Unfortunately, I've known that the new toe cap will make not good condition for me. I will decide final ordering after talking with Scott or Rob though, my mind is leaning into choosing the old style toe cap with plasti-dip coating which covering the same area of the new plastic toe cap. And no leather, no enamel cover (usually showing VH's logo).
  17. This is my fear... For example, the surface of goalie's shin pads are made by leather. If it was coated by a kind of cloth as this, not leather...? Or probably you know why bike riders are wearing leather jackets. Leather is strong material for friction. So maybe it is a fact that tan clarino is better than the new black wick liner at this problem.
  18. Thank you mc88! Are the hinder 2 rivets which can't be seen in this photo sit on the same level as these 6 rivets? I'm thinking good if the toe cap cover enough surface for all of 8 rivets of the front. This is another story though, how was the thickness of the new plastic toe cap's side wall for your skating? Did you feel any inconvenient against normal toe cap? Then about your torn liner, But we often see similar conditions on other traditional boots, don't you? I thought this is not rare. And also perhaps it's hard if we want to solve this problem.
  19. Does anyone have a picture which was taken undersole of the new plastic toe cap like this? I want to make sure it before I will purchase for my new pair. I've been feeling not good at the gap of leather and boot's outsole. So I'm thinking that if the new toe cap will make similar condition for holders, I don't want to choose it or make a measure for it.
  20. Bought a riveter for adjusting holder alignment and VH skate which often loosening its rivets.
  21. If the holder and boots were too stiff, to contour the edges around toe area more rounder. If the holder had different pitch and you felt it not comfortable, to put shims between boots and holder.
  22. Made my new grip end from 5x5cm square timber.
  23. I'm troubled with the difference of thickness between each spinners. This is only mine or everyone feels? Today I sharpened my skates with 90/50 spinner (usually I've used 95/75). I already noticed when I dressed grinding stone, that the height of spinner center is much lower than my 95/75 spinner. Edges were leaned. I had to rotate the dials of 3D holder from half to a round.
