9 hour bus ride home with the team. Too many obnoxious guys on my team, threw the headphones on and played solitaire for probably 6 of the hours. Still herd everyone yelling with my ipod turned all the way up. One of the worst rides ever.

Weekend sweep against one of the better teams in the league. Probably played one of the best games of my life today. I was out for no goals against and played shutdown D all game. +3 and the game winner. Jumped up in the zone, slid in backdoor on the right side and my winger put it right on my tape buried it near post, goalie had no chance. Felt great to light the lamp again, I hit a bit of a slump points wise for a few weeks.

The fact that the rookies on my team think its ok to relax with a 2 goal lead is getting ridiculous. 2 lazy penalties within 30 seconds led to a 5-3 goal, then after that a defenseman decides to bat down a shot from the point and it deflects into our net. So we go into panic mode and put one in. Get lazy all over again, let a kid walk outta the corner and goes untouched through 3 guys and slides it in. Overtime comes along and we had a man advantage just passed it around the zone without taking a shot or setting up the way coach told us to. They pick off a pass at the point go down 2-1 and score to win it. Its amazing how comfortable people can get with a small lead.

Got a U+ Pro. Insanely excited to use it tonight.

Pat Metheny, god I can't get enough of him. Coming from a younger generation behind his time being 19 right now, he is just simply amazing. Really having a hard time for any of my friends to accept his music. I really wish people my age would broaden their horizon of music and listen to some different stuff other than whats on the radio.

Went into a Shootout, Their first shooter scored, no one scored till I went 4th. Beat the goalie stick side with a shot. Went scoreless till the 8th shooters both scored, our 13th shooter scored. Crazy way to get a win, and scoring in my first Junior Shootout attempt and tying it up felt amazing.

2-0 this weekend in my teams first league games. Had the game winner in the first game witch was the first goal of the season for the team. Beat the goalie glove high from the point off a faceoff.

There are a lot more guys than him that can play with DT it's just finding out who can fit in and is willing to dedicate the time to them. I hope to god it isn't Bozzio.

Really saddened by the Portnoy news. I woke up at like 5am to about 10 texts from people informing me of this. DT has been my favorite band for about 6 years now, this is just awful. Very sad news for the music world but, if you look at it DT has put out 2 shitty albums in a row and part of that might be because Portnoy was pushing the metal aspect a little to much. It will be interesting to see who gets behind the kit for DT.

Its for hockey, our off ice coach is quite the tool.

Practice then a 8 mile run today, practice and plyos tomorrow, game saturday. Have absolutely no idea how I am gonna have legs for my game.

Shoulder popped out first day of practice, going to get a X-ray and MRI done I think in a few hours. Really hope it is nothing severe.

My good friend that I played with for 6 years made the same junior team as me and we are gonna be living with the same billet family. Fairly pumped so now I won't be stuck playing NHL with a 12 year old.

I didn't, for drop in I am usually a very relaxed player just out there to get some ice time. A lot of people asked me why I didn't, it's just not really worth it to me. No reason to go out there and get in some guys face for doing that when I have my season starting up in 2 weeks. The guy was around 25 and I am 18. Especially with the "family" drop in setting there was some youth players there and I do not want to set that example.

Some idiot at VERY relaxed "family" drop in decided it would be a good idea to tomahawk my stick after I was stickhandling in traffic. Destroyed my new Dolomite shaft in its 2nd use. I wouldn't be that upset if the guy apologized to me after it happened or something he just kept on going doing the same thing to people the rest of the session.

They did not play Run to the Hills. Or too much of their older stuff other than The Wicker Man (not a classic but they have been opening up with it for the last 10 years), Wrathchild, Iron Maiden, The Number Of The Beast, Fear Of The Dark, Hallowed Be Thy Name and Running Free. The rest of the set was a lot of the newer stuff. Missing a lot of the classics but, it was a damn good show. I Really would have loved to see Aces High, The Trooper, Wasted Years, The Clairvoyant, 2 Minutes To Midnight and The Flight Of Icarus but ohh well. Its not like I waited too long...only 19 years to see Maiden haha. Dream Theater only played for 55 minutes, only some of their heavier stuff. As I Am, A Rite Of Passage, Home, Panic Attack, Constant Motion, Pull Me Under. A semi-solid set for how short of time they played. Pretty sure Maiden fans would have rather herd Honor Thy Father or just about anything off of Train Of Thought over A Rite Of Passage though.

New twig and my skates came in today. Saw Dream Theater and Iron Maiden on Sunday. 6th time for Dream Theater, 1st for Maiden. God damn does Maiden put on an amazing show. Bruce Dickenson is a madman on stage.

Ohh yes, they are playing the same set all tour. I just want to see The Camera Eye. It will be my 6th time seeing rush and I just turned 19.

Had 16th row dead center tickets to Rush, of course they play at the only place in Chicago that doesn't have a roof over the seats. Beautiful outside all day, minus the heat. 20 minutes after being at the venue it starts to pour. After waiting around another hour after the start time for the show it gets cancelled. Just my luck, kicking myself in the ass that I didn't get tickets to mondays show. Any other venue in the Chicagoland area and the show would have went on. Hopefully they reschedule for when I am still in town.

Primus anyone? Really out there on a musical standpoint from the "norm" but, god damn do I love just about anything Les Claypool plays on. Being a bass player myself I have always been a fan of his style of play. I'd do anything to even have a quarter of his talent on bass. DMV - Primus Scale The Summit, herd them at Prog Nation last year with Dream Theater. Instrumental tech prog is about as good as I can describe them. 8 and 7 string guitars with a 6 string bass. Really solid sound and they should be getting much more recognition than they are. Finally saved up enough money to get new speakers and a deck for my car. Very excited for that. Plus Coheed & Cambria announced a mini tour with Porcupine tree in August. 2 of my favorite bands playing together, can't get much better than that.
