Howdy, I have that same thing available here (Youngstown, OH area) with a couple different groups. We also have mens league running now. I've not been going because while I know them all, I don't have any realistic expectation that they're taking precautions as seriously as we are. I don't think they're going to pandemic parties or anything, but still not as serious as we do... I just dread the idea of starting playing, one of us getting the virus, having serious issues with it, and then thinking "boy, that was stupid". Having said all that, my wife has been making noises that maybe I should go play hockey anyway. It appears I've been more grumpy than usual... 🙂 Mark

Howdy, I like tight gloves. Been really happy with the Warrior Covert QRL and QRL Pro. QRE and QRE Pro are nearly as good, but they seem to have slight shorter fingers, which isn't as good for me, but still work (and might be better vs. worse for you). Tacki-Mac grips were the best thing I ever did to help glove wear. I no longer use them because I use a huge knob now to try and help my wrist, but I really liked the (lack of) glove wear with them. Howdy, I think my biggest disappointment was Sullivan. Everyone talks about what a great coach he is. What I see is that the Pens have been shit since Tocchet left. Factor in not using Reeves, having some personality conflict with Cole, NOT STARTING THE ALL STAR GOALIE, not even giving Riikola / Ruhwedel a sniff vs. Johnson/Schultz... Yeah. Not impressed. Mark

I mean sure, goalies are a bit different, but WTF? The real question will be if anything is done with Johnson / Schultz. The stats there are pretty damning. Howdy, Generally speaking, machine tools that are heavier work better (less flexing, less vibration, etc) I'm not sure how much that would apply to a skate sharpener. Chatter / vibration of the "cutting head" obviously is bad, but I would imagine they could keep weights / resonance there in check and still drop the weight of the whole unit. It'll be interesting to see what the differences are. I certainly don't care about smaller/lighter for my use, so if that's the big improvement, I won't feel any pressure to upgrade. 🙂 Mark

Howdy, That type of thing was pretty common pre-virus too. I assume because they sold ad space on a per period basis? I saw it a lot at Pens games. Between periods, crew guys would come out and peel off stickers to reveal another sponsor underneath. Anyone know for sure one way or the other if the players hear the piped in EA sports fan sounds? Howdy, Yeah, agreed on this. Bauer's scanner told me I should be in a 7.5EE Supreme and I wear a Mako 8 in 7.5D comfortably. I assume this is because they turn into playdough when hot, so they deal with the extra width well. I've never tried the EE Mako. Maybe that's even better somehow? Mark

Howdy, I got something similar for my O1+boot order as well. I'm in preorder batch #3, and it says that my skates are ready, but are currently at the factory and their UPS train slot was cancelled. New estimated delivery to their warehouse is Aug 15th, with "we'll expedite / upgrade to express shipping" so presumably I'll get them not long after that. Mostly I was surprised to learn that UPS uses trains. 🙂 Mark

Howdy, Retail Bauer and CCM have 3 or so completely different footshapes though. I said this in the retail thread (I can't figure out how to quote you and reply there), but it would be really great if the True scanner would tell you how good a fit the retail version would be to your footshape. Hopefully you can at least bake the retail skates once to check the actual fit without rendering them unreturnable. Mark

Howdy, This seems as good a place as any to ask my dumb escrow question... Does an individual player ever need to owe more than the escrow amount for a season? Like if escrow is 10% for the current season, revenues fall during that season such that that is not enough to get back to 50/50, and a player retires at the end of the season (and their contract expires)... Does that specific player owe additional money beyond the 10% escrow that was withheld? Or does the escrow 'balance due' roll forward to the next season and the players who are getting paid in the following season pay that? Or something else? Mark

Howdy, Yeah, per this thread I looked around and found other 1/2" tape to use for knobs. Its just nicer/easier if Howie's sells it. And it beats ripping a 1" tape in half by about a million percent. 🙂 Mark

Howdy, I think the risk is more about what happens to the competition if a bunch of folks get it. If the Pens are in the conference finals and seven players test positive, do they have to forfeit? What if both goalies test positive? Or the head coach and his assistants? Not saying that they shouldn't do it... I think they probably should. But the way things are going, you know one team is going to have to play without its top six players, top goalie, and head coach for the Finals or something ridiculous like that. Mark
