    Easton Ultra Lite

Easton Ultralite Background: 5'11 265lbs Shaft: Ultralite (Green Graphics) Test Blades: Blue Easton Ultralite, Various Easton/Bauer Wood Blades. Initial Impression: My first impressions actually came even before I held this shaft. I have heard good things about it and one of my friends uses one of the first versions and refuses to use anything else. I thought I would give the shaft a shot and see what I was missing out on. When I first held it, I noticed that it WAS light, but not as light as my TPS xn10 redlite. I was looking for a "shooter" shaft and wanted something with a little more kick to it. This felt like what I wanted. 10/10 Weight/Balance: Honestly, I had used a Synergy OPS that was cut with a wood blade before and this felt almost exactly the same. The blade that I had used was actually taken from my old Synergy shaft (I gave the shaft to a buddy who couldn't afford a new shaft when he broke his). At the same time, I had a hard time finding a good blade for it that would help balance it out. I tired a blue ultralite blade, but wasn't satisfied. I tried a Bauer Supreme and Easton prostock but the Bauer felt too light and the Easton, too heavy. 7/10 Shooting/Passing/Stickhandling: After playing my first game with it, I found out quickly why this shaft held its reputation. It felt solid on shots and had plenty of feel while playing with the puck. I didn't notice anything special with my slapshot, but there wasn't anything wrong with it either. Passing was very nice too due to the feeling of the puck translating right up the shaft to my hands. 9/10 Durability: This is my tank stick. I use it when I play d and have no hesitations dealing out slashes or banging it around a little on the ice. It feels tough and so far doesn't even have a chip in the paint (had it since June). 10/10 Conclusion: Great shaft. I wanted a shooter stick and I got exactly what I wanted. I would suggest this shaft to somebody who wants a high/midrange shaft, but doesn't want to break the bank. Overall: +8/10
  3. I was listening to some streamed radio and I came across a band called October Fall. Good band so far.
  4. Add cursive to the list www.myspace.com/cursive
  5. ?? It works just fine.. I have used postal tape before. Just because you don't use clear tape doesn't make you a douche. I use USPS postal tape in practice, but not games for obvious reasons. I love it. I found it back a few years ago in a dressing room after a team from California left it there, it was a huge role. Only got a little bit left. The size of the roll is the best part. I get sick of buying a roll of cleartape every week.

    Harrow V3

I am coming up on a year on this stick so I thought I would re-review it. I have been using a TPS Xn10 Redlite with Zcarbon cnt for a few months now and love that stick, but thought I would try out one of my others for a house game tonight. I picked my v3 back up after not using it for about 3 or 4 months. The first shot I took was in warm-ups. It was a onetimer and it was absolutly the HARDEST slapshot that I have ever done. I actually hit one of my forwards in the cage (he was behind the net and I cleared the crossbar). He left the game early after throwing up at the bench and blacking out. I played the entire game with it and I forgot how good of a stick this is. It still feels stiff, but I can really load it up. It took a little while to get back into a non-open curve but once I found my bearings I really enjoyed playing with this stick again. I actually thought about putting it up on ebay, but after tonight this stick is going to get a lot more play time. BLADE- Still impressed. There isn't a chip in it yet! The feel is ok and its still nice and stiff. 9/10 then. 9/10 now. SHAFT/FLEX- After using a TPS whip flex and wanting just a little bit more umph, this one is right on my sweetspot. I usually use an Easton 100 flex for slappers, but I think I will change over to this one for my defensive games. I feel like I have more control in my slapshots and I can really load up the shaft in my swing. Then 8/10. Now 10/10 STICKHANDLING/RECEIVING PASSES - Passes felt good as usual, but nothing to rave about. Catching passes feels soft off the blade. This is a plus for receiving passes, but its downfall with its feel. Its not as bad as the virutally numb Bauer V, but not as nice as my zcarbon. Then 7/10. Now 6/10. SHOOTING- Read my story at the top of this post. Then 9/10. Now 10/10. WEIGHT/BALANCE- Weight feels nice. I prefer a very light stick, but at least its balanced. Then 7/10. Now 7/10. DURABILITY- Its almost been a year and the stick is virtually flawless. The grip is still there too. Then 10/10. Now 10/10 CONCLUSION- Somebody tell me where I can get another. There ARE better sticks out there, but try finding a better one with this quality for <$90.
  8. Woa.. wireless? Our buses roll on 35ish's.. blingin UTA down mainstreet. Nothing fancy from me. '97 Nissan Sentra SE and a '04 Honda Civic. The Nissan is going away soon for something that can tow a couple jetskis.. Probably a Tacoma or newer Cherokee.
  9. Great band in small doses. I like the honesty in the songs from the early albums.
  10. http://www.streetlightmanifesto.com I used to rock out to catch 22 all the time.. looked like a damn fool in my car. When they come for me, I'll be sitting at my desk with a gun in my hand wearing a bullet-proof vest. Singin' "My My My how the time does fly when you know you're gonna die by the end of the night!".
  11. If you like the Bandits check out Streetlight Manifesto http://www.streetlightmanifesto.com http://www.purevolume.com/streetlightmanifesto -I was wondering what happened to Catch 22! I used to listen to them all the time. -Cute is what we aim for is a little too emo for me. Sounds a lot like The Starting line. Bad Religion is way oldschool. They actually got me into punk music along with Millencolin, Lagwagon and 10 Foot Pole. Even their old stuff is good. I expand my (clean) vocabulary with every song lol.
  12. Cartel is a pretty good band. I have been listening to them for a while now. I can see them getting big with their very catchy songs.
  13. Its time for me to update my music collection a little and get some fresh stuff to listen to. What are some good bands that maybe are a little under the radar? I am not much of a pop guy and don't really listen to the radio. Please post the band name, type of music and homepage if they have one. Heres some of my favorites. Desa (pop-punkish) http://www.desadesadesa.com/ http://www.myspace.com/desa Rx Bandits (ska, pop-punkish, slightly political). http://www.rxbandits.com http://www.myspace.com/rxbandits Sage Francis (Original rap, political). http://www.STRANGEFAMOUS.com http://www.myspace.com/sagefracis Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers (used to be The Refreshments, honkytonkish alternative). http://www.azpeacemakers.com/ Bad Astronaut (light punk, some acoustic, alternative). Lead singer sings for lagwagon. http://www.badastronaut.com http://www.myspace.com/badastronaut Pilot Speed (emo-ish band out of Canada). http://www.myspace.com/pilotspeed. Enjoy.
  14. Theres always one or two on ebay.
  15. very very nice gloves!
  16. I count 27 of um... even if you got them cheap, thats still a huge chunk of change.. but I guess it will save you money in the long run. Edit: Am I the only person in the world who DOESN'T like this stick? :P
  17. CCM Protacks, 952 tacks, 892 tacks. RBK 7k, 8k and coming soon 9k. Graf G9 Nike Flexlite 1 thats about it.
  18. I have never seen one retail. I would ask around about customs. Even custom wood blades would be a good choice.

The video i have posted was from the Junior B exhibiton game i played in, but i got cut Sunday, so now i'm back with my club team which is Midget AAA. Edit: For those of you who are wondering.. 20. Updated: Helm: Nikebauer 5500 w/ stock cage. Chest: Old coopers Elbow: nike v12 Skates: Salming F1 with Tuuk Custom+ holders. Shins: CCM 652 tacks Gloves: Eagle X6 Pants: Harrow Pro. Sticks: Easton Ultralite/Ultralite Linstrom, TPS Redlite xn10/Easton zcarbon cnt Linstrom, Harrow v3.
  21. New stuff.. I went and got a pair of Eagle X6's. I LOVE the palm on them. Bar-none the best glove I have used to date. At the bottom are mine and my wifes sticks. The 3 on the left are my wifes. On the far right is my tps redlite xn10. I have used this stick for about a week now comboed with a zcarbon cnt. It took a while to get used to how light and balanced the combo was, but my shots have seen a big difference. Even my coach commented on my faster wristshots.
  22. Thats a nice rink. Mine doesn't even have windows :S
