  1. Have a customer who has a pair of Vapor 1X skates with the pro stock fabric grip liner. The liner is really worn but the rest of the skate is basically flawless. I dont know of any places that will replace a liner and its definately more work that I would be willing to take on myself. Does anyone have any suggestions? Whats the cost for such?

    Supreme S29.

Here's some pics of the tongue: Imgur Album

I'll definitely try the lacing first. I attached the pics to show the plastic guard that's in the tongue....but yeah, i really don't want to do surgery on brand new skates. It just seems that if it was half the thickness, and twice the width - it would be far more effective.

Yeah, we sell that skate and the tongue is not my favorite but its honestly pretty decent. I would try adjusting the lacing a bit. Did you get professionally fitted? Did you pass the pencil test?

I take it back, it's outside in. I'm not sure, but from reading here it seems commonly recommended.

The two lace idea is worth a try. So simple...but should achieve what I need.

I'm almost convinced that the plastic strip in the Bauer tongue (under the mesh strip) is what is causing the pain. It seems raised above the tongue, so all lace pressure is put right on it - which then transfers right to a narrow area on the top of the foot. Any idea if I made a slit in the mesh whether it could be pulled out?

It could be, yes, but I would alter your lacing before performing surgery on your skates. What model of Supreme is this?

Brand new. These have CCM's top of the line 2019 XS holder with STEP steel which is built for specific torsional stiffness to make sure a player gets every ounce of power out of every stride. These skates also include CCM medium arch insoles.

The CCM JetSpeed FT1 skate is defined by its exciting one-piece boot construction. Picking up where Super Tacks left off, the FT1's showcase a one-piece RocketFrame Composite boot that utilizes L1TE frame 360 technology; making these the lightest and most efficient JetSpeeds skates to date. Since the one-piece boot allowed CCM to create a 360° foot to skate contact area, players will be getting more power through every stride, better overall stability and a significantly more anatomical fit to eliminate negative space. Another tangible difference is the direct feel for the ice since the one-piece construction enables CCM to completely remove the outsole. The CCM JetSpeed FT1 utilizes a pro-level Tri-Tech white felt tongue with a beefy lace-bite guard. The tops of the quarter package are wrapped with Smooth Contour Pro pads that help alleviate discomfort caused by stiff boots, while the Total-Dri Pro Liner ensures feet stay dry and planted inside the boot all game long.

Hey for those that had a remake of their skate for whatever the reason, were you issued another order number or anything to monitor progress?  I have tried using the first one I was issued but nothing new on it.  Was just curious because I haven't heard anything from anyone and have been the one hounding with phone calls and emails and have only been told "we are remaking the skate".

You just need to email them for a status update.

Spoke to Per - he's going to send me a set next week.

Can you ask him the specific profile they are applying to the steel? It doesn't seem to be a standard single radius 10' since when I check it with the ProSharp profile checker I get different results at different areas of the blade. It actually seems like it might be a dual radius profile.

  7. Used for coaching. Barely any wear. Still look and smell new. Asking $90

The Warrior Alpha QX Glove is Warrior's most comfortable, mobile and protective 4-roll ever made. It even pushes the boundaries on how "4-Roll" gloves should fit, providing a more snug, anatomical fit throughout. The totally redesigned backhand moves with you almost like a lacrosse glove and feels like it was broken in yesterday. This newfound mobility keeps the premier Phantom Foam and BoneSystem reinforcement where it needs to be in any scenario, providing professional-grade protection in all angles at all times. This holds true even in the new HybridFlex cuff that suspends the upper cuff away from the body with a stretch gusset. The QX's butter-soft stick feel is attributed to the ProPalm+, which is a combination of digital and clarino materials. 3D grip print tops it off and ensures proper stick grip even when the gloves are wet. While the outside utilizes Warrior's most durable and richest-looking Dynasty cable mesh, the inside boasts WarTech FnC. As one would expect, it's incredibly comfortable but the key is the Polygiene additive (also found in the foams and palms). It prevents odor-causing bacteria from growing while also helping to wick away moisture.

  8. I have a few pairs of steel that I was using for reviews that I am selling. All of them are size 272. Asking $40 per set.

    • Bauer LS5 w Pro Sharp Zuperior M profile
    • Massive Blade TIN with Pro Sharp Quad 0.5 profile
    • Byonic Polished steel without any profile. Will profile for free, your choice.

The current profile applied can be changed if requested. Just ask. Steel will be sharpened before mailing to whatever specification you ask.

OK double checked, the trigger on the one with the rattle is much easier to pull than the other skate, also now it seems I can't get the blade to lock back in the holder.  Looks like I'll be making my way to the shop, hoping they're open today (we have some snow coming today and where I live people panic at the first flurry), then hopefully I can get it fixed up in time for my game tomorrow night.

It should take them no longer than an hour min to remove the rivets, install a new set screw (assuming the holder didn't break) and rivet it back up.

Agreed that 7.5EE and 8D are 272, but I believe 8.5D is as well. Bauer always sizes up at the half size in EE width. So 7.5D is 263 and 7.5EE is 272. 8.5D is 272 and 8.5EE is 280.

Yes, 8.5D is 272, but the manufacturer typically selects the larger of the two holders and with a 3/4 skate they round up in holder size typically. He should be in 280 at a minimum.
