  1. Interesting. I had reached out to them about buying a unit but the price was INSANE so that obviously didnt go anywhere.
  2. I would say the 5/8 FIRE feels like 3/4 ROH, with more glide, and the 3/4 FIRE feels like 1" ROH, with more glide. If you like more "float" than you will likely love it. I personally cannot skate on the 5/8" FIRE as its still too sharp for me.
  3. If you pay for access to the article you can actually export it in mutiple different formats on your phone. One of those formats allowed is as a PDF.
  4. I dont know where you got that from. If anything, the hollow on the Sparx ring is more accurate becuase diamond coated wheels dont flex unlike aluminum oxide/silicon carbide when pressure is applied.
  5. Would be cool if you could print to pdf and share the full article.
  6. MAP prevents the use of discount codes for online purchases on price protected products.
  7. I personally love the pro stocks adv sticks, usually dressed as a 1x lite. The Flylite I have seen a lot of them break recently so I am not sure how durable they are. I also hate the Warrior Fantom as the blade feels dead to me.
  8. You can get scanned for free.
  9. I have never known anyone to use them but I would have gone with https://hockeymenders.com/ as they are amazing. They also post pics of most of their work online too so you can see various options and such. https://www.instagram.com/hockeymenders/?hl=en
  10. I think the entire time I have been shaprening skates I have only had to adjust the pitch knob when someone else screwed with it and messed up the pitch. Otherwise I nvever needed to touch it.
  11. I play on 3 teams of varying levels. Mondays is an elite league, lots of ex-professional players; NHL, Europe and such, guys just out of college; D1/D2 and some younger guys who just finished juniors. Thursday is a B level league, some guys should be playing A and Elite but like to skate with their buddies and tone it down a bit. Fridays is a 30+ league and is a pretty solid mix of older guys who skate Monday and some other high-end players that skate in the A league. Here is my dilemma. Since I moved I was "assigned" to these teams, excluding Thursday which I skate with buddies for fun. The problem is all of these teams are new and were kind of clobbered together so there is a pretty disparate degree of talent. Suffice to say, the season has started out terrible. Every team I am playing on have all been getting slaughtered. I really dislike losing, I think most people do, but when you are losing by 7+ goals its just not any fun. I also find that I cannot develop a flow with any of the players on these teams and none of us skate together outside of games so it's really hard to get to know one another. I hear based on these facts we are doomed to a disappointing season which will be riddled with losses leaving me with nothing but regret. I dont want to abandon any of the guys, they are all really nice, but playing with them makes me want to rip out my hair and slam my head into the pavement. It's honestly that frustrating. I feel like if I go to the league director and ask for a trade it's going to lead to come bad blood but I just dont know how many more embarrassing losses I can tolerate before my sanity becomes fractured. Thoughts?
  12. If you want actual photos I can take some tomorrow when I am home and not at the rink.
  13. I have some custom Bauer sticks with his curve. It's basically a P28 with a little less toe and the lie on the toe is slightly more aggressive compared to a P28.
  14. Grabbed a few of these today from a buddy. They are P29 max height blade and 75 flex. Uncut they weighed in at 409 grams each. First thoughts: Lighter than the previous generation and better balanced More pop compared to the Trigger 3D Blade feels like they reinforced the toe and softened the heel a bit, also feels lighter than the previous generation Like how one side of the shaft is convex and the other is concave, fits nicely in the hand Graphics are awesome
  15. All I can say is we sell mostly TRUE custom and some CCM custom. We have had just as many issues with CCM as TRUE by volume so I take everything with a grain of salt. We have actually had players who had TRUE, didn't like them, tried CCM custom, didn't like those either, and went Bauer retail and were happy as a clam. Also have had people go from custom CCM to TRUE and also were happy.
  16. This is the most recent catalog https://drive.google.com/open?id=1pS3Jabo1-CBKwc20AM6K3jxd7W9KrQrH Current retail order form: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1eweHfsIwKJUmwr7NHL5roeYeSCXjlDcN
  17. I think this is only one the one-piece boot options and at the retail level.
  18. That's gonna be the same for all girdles that don't have length adjustment. 😞
  19. 7/16 and 1/2 seem to be 90% and I used a BlackStone BAT Gauge
  20. We sharpen both hockey and figure skates and the Sparx works well for general figure skate steel. Nothing high end or special like a Jackson Ultima Matrix or high end Paramount blade.
  21. That's about right. Blades that are more worn or damaged are considerably louder and sound like they have more chatter than blades that basically just need a fresh edge versus repairing a damage.
  22. Over time you will get even more comfortable and will likely move from 5/8 to 3/4, that is the typical progression with more players that switch to TRUE. Once you have full control of your edges you don't need to rely on such an aggressive hollow and your legs, knees and thighs with thank you for this. One thing you noticed which usually catch most by surprise is how the boot FORCES you into a hockey position. If you fight it you will get tired quickly. However, give your body time to reset and your ergonomics to adjust. Your body mechanics need to reset and this will take a few weeks. Did you get the SHIFT holders?
