  1. It flexes right below my bottom hand. It kicks pretty well, but I prefer the "snap" I get from a LKP stick. The blade is fantastic though. Nice, soft feel. I think the flex profile is similar to the Tacks.
  2. The biggest problem IMO with FBV is the consistency/quality of the cut. You don't know how long LHSs are using each spinner. I'd venture to say most are using spinners that are past their prime, as they are very expensive to replace.
  3. Giving the Nexus 8000 a go. I LOVE the soft feel of the blade. The kickpoint is.....interesting. I still think I'm a LKP kind of shooter, but the release is still pretty nice. It's all we had at the shop (besides the MX3, which I don't like) until the 1X is released
  4. Switched to the P91a for the heck of it (after a 3 year hiatus) and am back in love. Stick handling is a bit off right now as I am trying to dial in the height, but my shots have never been harder. My goalie gloved a snapper and told me that his hand was killing him after!
  5. Guys who you ref with that target/single you out during games because they think it's "funny". Well it's not, considering I pay full league dues to play. My teammates have noticed it as well. I don't get ANY calls, and if I throw criticism their way, I end up paying for it one way or another. These refs have also been there since the place has opened as well, so they are essentially "tenured". VERY frustrating.
  6. The QRT looks suspiciously similar to the Dagger taper. I didn't see it when the rep came in. Are they actually similar?
  7. That stick is GORGEOUS. What a great job by SW!
  8. They do make an intermediate EK15
  9. Agreed. The 75 EK15 I had felt like an 85-87. No thanks.
  10. Just picked up a new set of irons. Saved $60 because of a sale. I'm pumped!
  11. Good old Z-Leader. I remember their cage that you could clip up. Pretty neat.
  12. There really are no unique tips I can give honestly. Just make sure the wheels are centered in the front and the back of the skate (obviously). The reason I had so much trouble with this was because the skate was a 9.5D, and my buddy requested the SM/MED Mission frame (9.5 is on the VERY END of the sizing spectrum for this frame. I needed to make sure that the wheels were sticking out evenly in the front and the back, so I took my time. I'm very meticulous with that kind of stuff. Especially since these arent cheap skates. Actually, I do have a minor tip. The second set of holes in the heel (the holes closer to the toe) line up just about perfectly with the rear Magnesium frame holes. Put coppers in those and use them as a guide for the rest of the skate.
  13. IW Team, Yes I can. I sent them back to my buddy, but I will have him snap a couple pics of the bottoms for you
  14. Some Nexus 8000 skates I mounted for a teammate. They were a PAIN IN THE BUTT. Took me nearly 3 hours. Way too long.
  15. Thanks for the advice. And no, I am not starting out in college, I graduated last summer and am taking some extra classes. I have honestly found the "tutoring" resources pretty useless. Since you aren't paying for them through the school, the tutors often rush you in order to fill all of the students they have on their list.
  16. I had a great Gen Chem I teacher for the first Summer semester. Now, for Gen Chem II, my teacher is AWFUL. He's a really nice guy, but he doesn't present the information well at all. This sucks, because Chemistry is THE course that intimidates the crap out of me. Plus, this is the quantitative chemistry class, and I am BAD at math. Getting concerned/overwhelmed. Ugh. Just need to push through I guess. No July 4th festivities for me . I'm gonna go to the library all weekend and see if I can figure this information out.
  17. Found these at the local PIAS and had to pick them up. Traded some old stuff in and ended up paying $14 out the door for two pairs. The mesh bags were a nice surprise as well. I have 2 bags to put wet socks into
  18. Baby steps man, baby steps. Good on you for making the effort to get into shape! "Rome wasn't built in a day" Seems appropriate here.
  19. First world problem, but I HATE the new HydraMax liner in the APX2 skates. Can we just go back to clarino please? This stuff is brutal and does not grip your foot at all.
  20. Wow. RIP Tony Gwynn. What a terrible loss for baseball.
  21. This is why I prefer to ref the 6u/8u/10u/18u and Bronze/Silver Adult games. I try to avoid 12u/14u/16u/Adult Gold games at all costs. I call that the "danger zone"
